You would think that pseudo-intellectual debates about a loose understanding of libertarianism and communism in the way only neckbeareded basement-dwellers can present it would be humorous. In fact, you'd think flamewars between wannabe neo-nazi boneheads and Aspie hipsters about the role of government in American society couldn't possibly be anything less than hysterical. Under normal circumstances, it probably would be. However, studies have shown that any exposure to /pol/, even in moderation, lowers the IQ by at least ten points for every second spent looking through a thread.

I think you have misconceptions about /pol/ OP. Despite all the memes about it, the place really is one of the most diverse and honest places on the internet to have an argument.

There is some trolling as everywhere, but there is also a lot of honest discussion from different viewpoints. If you are judging it just with what you heard about than i highly suggest you to go visit. In fact, i insist that you visit as that is what keeps /pol/ moving, and someone with your point of view might be a good addition to the population of the board.

-the US is totally a democracy and not a full blown oligarchy by now

That's actually more worrying.
When I was in secondary school studying for my history GCSE, I experienced first hand some of the ******** that happens. It's left me very sore about history as a profession.
We went from castles and tudors and all other such things in the years before, then onto russia around the time of 1919 when the revolution happened and before. This would be fine.
What we really learned about and spent most of our time on, was jews.
We had to sit through all the stuff about the pogroms, and we were made to watch fiddler on the roof (Bit odd using a movie but I can see where they're coming from). We barely got into the revolution at all, only a few facts like trotsky and lenin lead people to do some **** .
Then we dropped it and moved onto the assessed content.
Hitlers rise to power and germany from 1918-1933.
We learnt about the weimar, briefly segued into the great depressing to give context, then back to germany.
Where we learnt about jews.
Again.
We were lectured with "muh 6 million" and "oh kyrstallnacht was a tradgedy!" the treatment of jews was terrible."
This would be fine for a bit, but we were supposed to be learning how hitler gained power but most of the lectures went like this:
"Hitler was accepted into the Nazi party as a speaker, and there he was free to espouse his opinions about the jewish people and how they were in control of the government."
I watched a lot of WWII documentaries growing up, so I was eager to learn about hitler's background and the state of the world at the time, we didn't learn half as much about the context of the situation as would generally be common sense to require.
We spent the whole time on a guilt trip instead of learning history.
Later on we got into the Holocaust itself.
Not Germany 1939-45, but just the holocaust.
I was getting pretty sick of this to be honest.
We even went to a holocaust centre that still didn't give any context, just bemoaning the fact that people didn't like jews.
As I said I was sick of it.
I decided to do some outside research because I wasn't getting much but things about the jews in my history lessons.
I found out that there was a Bolshevik revolution attempted in 1919 in Germany.
Much like the Arab Spring recently, Marxist, and Bolshevik supporters saw what happened in russia and tried it in Germany, afterall they'd just come off the back of a crippling war that they lost.
Tensions were high. Morale was low. The Country was in ruins and prime for violence.
These revolutionaries killed lots of people in violent actions.
These revolutionaries were mostly purely socialists, however it was a prime opportunity for zionist jews.
So.
After a crushing defeat there's violence, some of these people were jews with crazy beliefs, people start to distrust socialism in general as well as jews to a lesser extent.
I was not taught this and school.
I had to go and find it myself.
It took a considerable amount of digging.
You know what else is equally as dodgy as saying "Hitler hated jews for no reason"
6,000,000 gassed.
The population that was jewish in germany in 1933 was ~500,000
put in simpler terms .5 million.
There was also the jewish flight from germany closer to 1939, so these numbers will have decreased.
In fact the numbers of jews in the whole of western europe could safely fit within ~3% of the total population.
If all the jews stayed still, didn't escape to America, you'd have to round up EVERY SINGLE jew to get close to 6 million.
And we're expected to believe that instead of just shooting them. They built facilities especially for the slowest death possible that were supposed to handle 6million+ this coupled with the fact that the incinerators would have to be burning 24/7 365 to just handle the corpses.
Also what about storing and transporting all these people?
You can say what you like about /pol/ sometimes they may be crazy. However they're not willing to blindly follow without evidence.

I'm saying they're vastly more believable because they actually source this **** and put it up for scrutiny and intelligent debate.
Despite what people say.
You can go onto pol and start a thread making a baseless claim.
Once you get past the bandwagon autists, the real users will actually throw your claim out the window if you fail to provide proof.
If it's something they've discussed already, or is wrong they'll call you a newfag and ridicule you.

it's actually a suprisingly rational place.
If you don't go in there with properly sourced evidence then you'll probably come back out after taking a lot of abuse.

except their sources are always just other sites who deny the holocaust, try to find an actual sauce from a neutral study and you might struggle. Go there with well sourced evidence that there actually where 6 million jews killed (i dunon if that exists) and youll get thrown out, /pol/ is only interested in sources which confirm that which they already believe, irrelevant of anything else.

Look at it from my. There was a comic that showed different gaming couples. I was scrolling down to the comments expecting a "tfw no gf" circle jerk. but, I apparently missed the fact that one of the couples was interracial. Top comment was "good goy" and the rest were complaining about degeneracy.

This picture seems to indicate blacks as being the reason the neighborhood went bad (even if that wasn't the goal, it ended up being interpreted that way.) But once again most didn't question it, and once again devolved into mindless black hate. Regardless of whether you believe blacks are bad or not, blaming them on something that didn't happen is tumblr level circle jerking.

That is why I resent pol AND tumblr. Both sides clearly show an unwillingness to think for themselves, and would much rather trust information spoon fed to them from their reliable sources. But the problem with that is you have to trust the people providing it. Sure you don't trust the jewish media for impure motives, but how do you know your media is any more pure? Why trust one over the other?

I don't even know why i'm bothering with writing this. I've tried arguing with SJWs and it never gets anywhere. But lately i've learned that the only difference that matters politically isn't left or right wing, it's the system of morality their core reasoning stems from. You are rational/legal. they are equality can communal sharing. The left and right are not just unable to not just see eye to eye, but are completely incomprehensible to each other. Me? I'm stuck in the middle of a valley with cross fire from both sides. I just want to be left alone on my little ****** corner of the internet without having to have an opinion about gays or racial relations.
