This would be even cooler if the light side also made sense when read by itself.

Only one of these makes sense by itself. The other feeds off of the other, and cannot exits without it.
Quite a perfect metaphor for the common "artist" and the social benefits that they "deserve" and come out of my taxes

Haaa... good one.

It's true too. I fancy myself a bit of an artist but I'm not stupid enough to think it'll pay the bills. I'm a teacher and I draw and paint and **** on my own time. if the time ever comes that I'm able to sell stuff or serialize a comic or something, I'll likely remain a teacher for the steady pay.

plus little kids are freaking hilarius.

I just hope that you will grow up some day and realize not everyone can be an artist. Sure, there will always be people out there saying things like "Do it, you can make it!" and there will be artists saying things like "They told me I can't do it, too!". But in fact, you will probably end up being a normal person. So why aim for the stars and risk falling on your ******* face when you can also have ... well, a good job, a car, a house, maybe a good wife/husband and children.

When I was in my teens, I thought I could be artsy. I wrote songs and poems and storys and **** . Thank god I realized that they were ****** and edgy as **** when I grew up. I am now an IT person. I like programming, the persons in my job are nice, I have much more money than I need for living, I have a lot of free time, I got married a year ago, maybe we will get a child or two. It's all pretty neato.

People will tell you to get a job you love, but I'll tell you that haven't got any idea what you might or might not love in your teens, because you're in the progress of becoming an actual person. Everyone's searching for an identity in this years, you will feel like nobody gets you, you will probably feel like you have an superior intellect and all those people telling you to fit in a little just don't get it. As a result, most teens will begin to make "art" to express themselves, and that's okay. But you see, it's not a good phase in life to decide what job you want to have later, because your brain will tell you to do something cool and individual and not end up like those boring grown ups that lost all their spirit. Truth is, you really should aim for a real job. Not one that you would hate, but maybe one you would be okay with.

This is the attitude that has lined my streets with vagrants. I am so ******* tired of Oakland

How about "get a real job and do art or whatever in your spare time and maybe you'll get a job doing that instead at some point down the road"

Everyone says get a job doing what you love - is terrible advice. I have so many friends with 50k worth of debt fighting for a job at Starbucks or as a waitress to pay their bills because everyone told them to follow their dreams....but they didn't have any success as a rock star, artist or writer.

If you're amazing at something, love it, and can get a job - great. But if your average and the job market is flooded....good luck. It's not gonna happen. Then you'll be in your late 20s bitching on sites like FJ about how the economy sucks and how your parents generation ruined everything.

And now they are praising self-contempt pseudo artist that claim that art is above everything. Well I suck at drawing where you suck at making money.

This happened at an interview I **** you not.

Them: There's alot of room of advancement in the company
Me: I just really like the job I'm applying for
Them: Well I don't want to say it's a dead end job but their is a cap on pay
Me: Uh, did you just call one of your positions a dead end job?
Them: We want people to have ambition
Me: Im just gonna....leave....
