Last learned was that "cups" is also a measurement, and a big enough cup of glass can hold 2 "cups" of vanilla

with all the evidence of people almost dying because they made mustard gas, i dont think id be comfortable trying something the internet suggested.
#34 to #6 - europe (12/02/2013) [-]
I doubt it's ever actually mustard gas
It's usually chlorine
When you mix ammonia and bleach, you get chlorine gas
#17 to #6 - anonymous (12/02/2013) [-]
Worst that would happen (if the cup/mug is oven safe) is the vanilla could burn and ruin the cup but that's unlikely. Could always try a lower temp though
#12 to #6 - anonymous (12/02/2013) [-]
You're right and wrong, right that you shouldn't believe everything on the Internet, wrong that you can create mustard gas which requires an organic surfer mustard compound which is not found inside vanilla and plus theirs not mixing agent, so it is quite unlikely
#20 to #12 - anonymous (12/02/2013) [-]
Some men might say it's impossible to make mustard gas using vanilla, seeing as vanilla doesn't have any Sulfur atoms in it. I say those people need to get with the times and upgrade to a nuclear-reactor oven!

But seriously though, all of those stories claiming they made mustard gas are false. They just made chlorine gas. Chlorine gas can certainly be toxic/make you pass out if you're huffing it (blow bubbles till you're out of breath!), but it's nothing compared to mustard gas. Mustard gas will give you giant blisters (think massive second degree burns). It will also cause your lungs to bleed/blister when you breath it in. I'm sure you can figure out why that could be a problem.

How would you even mix that up?
That's like, 20 bottles of the stuff, at least in the size that they sell at supermarkets.
#18 to #5 - hahdumbbirch (12/02/2013) [-]
dude, you can buy this bottle of vanilla extract for about $5 and it is 2 cups, and it smells amazing.

"caps" as in the lid to the bottle.

It's like half a teaspoon or something.

what he meant was - how could he think it was two cups if the sentence would go: two cups of vanilla extract in a cup - which doesn't make sense, clear enough for you?
User avatar #16 to #4 - stipulateprism (12/02/2013) [-]
To be fair, it could be a rather large cup (container) as opposed to a unit of measurement. I have a few cups that could fit more than a cup inside them.
User avatar #1 - whobobwhatpants (12/02/2013) [-]
I did it last week. only my kitchen smelt nice, and that only lasted an hour I really wanted it to work :/

Well, it's winter now, so you probably have a way of heating your house. Put it on whatever you heat the house with and it should smell nice.
