That's why you establish credibility with people who do reviews. If there's a guy who says that the new game that's out is the best thing ever, but he said your favourite game is complete **** , you probably can't take his opinion seriously since you don't share tastes. And this can be applied to the inverse.

I always read the bad reviews. If i'm buying something, I know what it's going to do, how it's supposed to work. A company would only ever pay people to leave good reviews.

An example is a 1tb hard drive I was looking to buy. Every bad review I saw said the have a high fail rate, I don't have the money to rebuy a hard drive so I settled for 750gb one.

Zero punctuation, best reviews and usually quite scathing, even of games he likes.

Just trust yourself, if it looks good and the trailers look good then buy it. I don't get the fuzz about having to watch reviews before you buy a game. Isn't it quite like reading a review of a book before reading it? Spoils the whole experience in my opinion.

Just look at Metacritics. They use the average score of professional- and user reviews. If it has a low score, it's bad. High score, mostly good, because most reviewers will agree. Bias will be balanced by people who are fanboys and those who cry because their Commodore crashes when they start the game.

look at reviews closer to a MID score, tend to look at both pro's and con's evenly

reminds me of that Gravity movie that came out recently... the ratings disturb me a little.

Instead of listening to their opinion, listen to the points they make.

And of course, video evidence should be present.

Get used to one Reviewer you like, even if he's too biased, with time you'll learn to see past his ******** .

reviews are generally for people able to make a choice in what they buy. and generally only for luxury/entertainment products

Wouldn't technically this be a problem in every part of the world?
