The saying "The Blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb" comes to mind here, mainly the second part. You don't choose your family, and the idea that you need to unconditionally love them always baffled me when you had no say in being related to them. You're not obligated to feel anything in particular about it and I doubt I would feel much of anything if I was put in your position.
