it should still make sense from the show's perspective. i mean dragons in that world are as normal as dinosaurs once were in our world and that smoke looking creature was born out of magic. but the human body should still work the same. people are born naturally the way we do, they conceive the way we do, they bleed if they're cut, they die if they are stabbed and no one uses some form of magic to revive them, if they eat, they get fat, if they don't, they get thin. it's not like someone put a curse over his body to never get slim. so that fan's question still remains valid.
Yes.. This sort of thing kind of matters if you want your movie or TV show or even video game to have believability. I really like when they go in great detail to change charachters weight, or beard, or hair or scars or clothes. It adds another level of realism.
to be fair, in the books they give a description that he lost weight and became muscular due to the labor from the nights watch, my guess is that the show chose to keep him heavy to appeal to their fans / make life easier on the actor
I think he lost some weight from when he arrived at the wall but he was crazy fat. I don't think he's in great shape now. But I mean who knows now he's in Oldtown. Maybe there's a Gold's gym or something.
Nathalie Emmanuel Missandei > Emilia Clarke > Nell Tiger Free Myrcella in season 5 Jesus Christ, she's only 15! > Natalie Dormer> Carice van Houten Melisandre > Rose Leslie> Sophie Turner> Lena Headey Cersei
Yea Nell's like 16 - can spot potential in her, and Sansa looked more acceptable at that age, but nell gives the pedo creeps (not to roar into fury at anyone who rates her... but agree on the icky vibe)
I guess you can find people attractive without being sexually aroused by them. I wouldn't sleep with Free rather than with Dormer, but Free has completely enchanting eyes. My list sort of rated who I would rather watch on screen, not who I'd rather sleep with. Do you get my point, or am I making no sense at all? Besides, I wouldn't have to make excuses even if I was sexually attracted to her. 16yo is perfectly legal where I come from
Nah it's cool, I hate when any slight hint toward the taboo makes you an instant extreme of that taboo i.e you either utterly condemn it or you're "one of them" - she just tips over the edge for me
I'd put Sansa on the bottom of the list.
Rose Leslie is absolutely gorgeous, i'd put her after Natalie Dormer.
I actually might even prefer her over Natalie Dormer...still unsure.
I still think Sophie Turner and Emilia Clarke are overrated. If I saw both of them on street, they would be unremarkable.
Its called willing disbelief, or immersion. Dragons and the like are established canon with some explanation for plausability, a magical chubby man who doesn't have to eat has not been explained, so it breaks the guys sense of immersion. It bothers me when people try and justify random flaws in a story as "well this and this exist so why can't this." One thing is established, one thing is not. Take, say, Lord Of The Rings for example. Mithrandir as a powerful wizard? sure. A Ring that bestows power to the wearer? Yeah, ok. But both are explained and given context, if Frodo all of a sudden starts flying and shooting nuclear laser beams from his eyes, I am gonna ask questions.
Course not, the problem is, again, and I'll explain cause I know reading is hard, if it is not explained and goes against what has otherwise been established, then it breaks the immersion.
they got human bodies dont they?
they age, the bleed, they wanna have sex and get drunk.
but for some fantastic reason they cant change the shape of their bodies, the gods have ordained them to be either fit or fat
Tbh I don't really get why celebrities get fat in the first place.
I mean, I'm still 233 lbs myself (although I weighed 250 one and half a week ago). Really, they have the means to change their bodies in no matter of time. Reduce the size of your stomach, get a coach, buy healthy **** .
Seriously, if I had the financial option, I probably wouldn't even eat half the **** I ate up to some months ago.
it's almost as if celebrities are regular people and just as lazy. money or not, some people don't like to exercise. instead of a trainer, they order a pizza
Well before industrialization food was quite scarce since making food took more effort and they yielded less crops, and Sam is no longer a member of a noble house so he should eat less since i don't think the nights watch eat like kings anyway.
Though maybe in the world of westeros they have some sort of "minor magic" or some super dung they fertilize their fields so that the crops are larger and thus more food becomes available for a larger amount of people...?

Fantasy shows are based on reality with a twist and that twist does no include being eternally fat.
