same goes for driving a car, eating fatty foods or smoked meat, drinking sugary sodas, alcoholic drinks, living in a city or a dusty enviroment...
vast majority of things you do every day have a chance of getting you killed one way or another, or harm someone around you, yet i dont see any "stop driving cars it kills peopls" anywhere
Drive smart and for the most part you're in the clear, plus driving is necessary in most modern life
As long as you excercise and eat in moderation, fatty foods and sugary drinks do little to no harm in the long run
Alcohol is in the same boat as tobaco.
If you live in the city or a dusty area, you can move, though that can be expensive.
There's no biological need to smoke, and if you do it for the nicotine there are healthier ways to get it (gum, patches, vaping, etc.)
Thing is, Driving a car is actually useful. Smoking just puts you in the ground quicker, and well, I don't know you, but wouldn't you want to be dead later rather than sooner?
Interesting fact studies have shown that smokers contain higher testosterone levels, are less likely to DIE from a heart attack (not to say less likely to HAVE one), and. Also less likely to suffer from parkinsons AND joint wear. Look it up, the studies cannot fully explain or prove these studies but none the less are documented showing proof that there are SOME benefits that smokers gain (risks too)
Theyre called "breaks" dumb ass the reason you dont take them is probably from you knowing youve already spent half the day dicking around and know that if you claim a break you look like an asshole non-smokers have the same rights as smokers to breaks, in fact in a lot of jobs theyre mandatory, also I like how many say that tobacco has no benefit and automatically gives you cancer, I guarantee most smokers who get cancer not only probably have cancer prone genetics but also smoke cheap high filler high preservative tobacco blends like marlboro Doral Newports etc the few carcinogenic chemicals in tobacco (usually present only after combustion) arent that much more risk than sunlight if anything the worst damage is from tar build up causing scar tissue and risking infection I fear little from smoking but then again I prefer the dip and powder snuff to cigarettes, most offshore facilities/refineries dont allow smoking in work areas only designated areas usually limited to living quarters sooooo quite a walk to take a break
It's mostly because it reeks and it makes you an unpleasant smelling person to be around. We also know that if we can smell it, chances are we're breathing it in and second-hand smoke is still dangerous.
It also affects people with asthma or any kind of breathing problem and it just makes others feel ill.
Sometimes it's hard to avoid when you're in places like college campuses or at bus stops. It also indicates that you're probably an untidy person since you don't mind smelling like you just rolled in an ashtray.
Seriously, even if you Fabreeze the **** out of everything and obliterate pets with air freshener, you and your house still smell like **** .
It's a "Stop doing the thing that has no upside beyond socialising during breaks" thing.
Whatever you smoke for, you can find an alternative that isn't giving you cancer and making you smell like smoke.
Eh people see it as a stress reliever and theirs not many alternative that are legal in most countries, i guess one of the big alternatives is vaping but that doesn't seem that much healthier.
smokers reek
everywhere smokers smoke, reek
everything around smokers reek
imagine a group of people that are addicted and have to step out every couple of hours to refresh their sewer stench.
imagine they're also killing themselves with this addiction.
imagine there's literally no reason they're doing it, other than "i started and now i'm addicted"
But I bet you dont feel the same way towards pot huh? Even though you can smell it three rooms away before its even lit, I bet you wouldnt mind if bus stops and street corners smelled like a skunks ass so you can get high and would call everybody who disagreed with it prudes. Also what kind of cigarette smoke smells like a sewer? If you smell sewage I guarantee its more likely to be your upper lip than cigarette smoke.
also, i never said smoke smells like sweage. but it does smell as bad as sewage.
almost every single non-smoker in the world will tell you: smokers smell like ****
"but i bet you don't feel the same way towards pot huh?"
nice ******* strawman
at no point did i mention pot.
i know noone that smokes, and i've never smoked it myself.
i have no idea
i literally have never come in contact with a pot smoker.
right now, my father and brother both smoke
and i've got about 7 smoking aunts and uncles, 5 non-smoking
as well as 4 smoking cousins, 4 non-smoking cousins, and 5 that use snus, which is tobacco that you put under your lip.
nope, but i've grown up with grandparents smoking, as well as my brother and my father both picking up smoking while i was in my teens, and both my parents were smokers before they had kids.
pretty much every aunt and uncle of mine has been a smoker at some point, or currently are.
i dare say that me, and my 1 year younger cousin, are the only people in my family that have never smoked.
Your family most probably chain smokes, when i'm around average smokers that are not smoking i can't smell a thing, but when i'm around my aunt who chain smokes i can smell her from across the room.
as most of these things, they usually dont affect the smoker that much but people who dont smoke praise it. i dont think there exist a smoker out there in the western world who doesnt know that health issues with smoking, especially with the images that goes on the boxes now.
