A sea lion is called a "zeeleeuw" in dutch (literally sea lion). What we call a "zeehond" (sea dog) is called a seal in english. I know, I am great a parties

I'm fairly sure that's a seal, a sea lion would probably **** that dog up

It's easier to say Pinniped because you'll never be wrong.
But it is a sea lion seeing as its walking around, a true seal doesn't do that.

I thought sea lions were generally more aggressive and larger, you know, living up to their namesake...

You might be thinking of leopard seals, which are huge, carnivorous and evil. They play keepy-up with dead penguins before eating them.

There is a massive half ton species but most are this size I think.
I could be young too, I'm no marine biologist.

Same. I'm likely just thinking of the larger type.
