(10/29/2015) [-] I know it is a joke, but once I went to a national park in the evening. the waterfall and creek had completely dried up due to a severe drought, leaving the place dead quiet. The place was also empty of all people and cars, so I was pretty much the only person for at least a mile.
Yet did any of this deter me from walking that trail? lol no. but surely I stayed on the trail and didn't venture into the woods, right? LOL NO. My stupid cracker ass went to explore a fenced off abandoned ruin for lack of a better word. It was a building but hardly had anything left to it. of some sort (a mill i think), since hey, no rangers.
Now, when I said there were no cars, I lied. there was one. It was a empty prison van. I really wish I was making this up. Somehow exploring an abandoned ruin, in a empty national park, with a dry river bed, and a prison van with unaccounted for prisoners parked nearby, did not set off alarm bells until I got back to my car and saw the van still there and still empty.
so next time you hear someone say "no one is that stupid" in regards to horror films, you will know the truth.

One time they were giving me a ride home from work(I like in a fairly woodsy area while we worked at an airport). On the way, the further we got into the woods they were getting really nervous and started to mumble prayers(they were Hispanic). Near the end of the ride I just slowly turned my head to them and said "...I've been dead for years...". They almost had a heart attack.
They are Hispanic and I'm pale white. They told me that Hispanics(at least in their area) are very superstitious. Now I know how to scare away people should I ever go in their area. I'll put on a pointy headed ghost costume.
