Isn't the Giver the book where an old man is giving a boy memories of the past and to see colors and stuff because no one else can?

They're making a GIVER MOVIE?
Excuse my almost tumblr-esque reaction, but I ******* LOVE THE GIVER.

******* divergent. It was good up until the point they started making it into a romance.

> Take Warhammer 40000.
> Make a heartfelt story about some gal in the Imperial Guard and some friends left on a hostile planet.
> Combine two very different fandoms.
> Wait for the ensuing ********* .
> Laugh.

Seriously though, I've had a similar idea for some time now. Think Order of the Schtick but with a Guardswoman as the main character, a Catachan vet, a Space Marine as the team, with various team ups from the other factions over the course of the story. The way I imagined it, it would be rather upbeat, parodizing the universe for comical effect while staying serious at the right moments. The reason as to way she survived that massive assault that left her alone in the first place would be that she is a Perpetual, descendants of the EMPRAH who can be revived no matter what hit her.

The long term goal? Get to Terra, meet the Emperor and decide the fate of the galaxy!

The way I see it, all the races of the universe is needed to save it/doom it. I know I am quite aone in that line of thinking, but to me there is two main factions: Order and Chaos, who directly oppose each other. I know that all factions fight each other all the time, but essentially they are on these sides for me. The group in the story will therefor be based around all these, going back and forth between Chaos and Order, until they finally, at the end of the story, gain absolution and decide the fate of the galaxy.

I wish I could draw properly.

Teens like dystopian worlds because many are going through a phase where they feel isolated, alienated and generally miserable thus feeling like something must be against them to make this period of their life so hard. Thus dystopian worlds, or rather stories involving the destruction of dystopian worlds fuel a fantasy of not only having their misery justified but being able to defeat it in a heroic manner. Actually the same can probably be said for just about every age group.

i dislike romance though, why can't I just have a movie about a dystopian world without it being ruined by some teenage girl chasing after muscular white dudes? A deus ex movie would be pretty cool come to think of it.

I really hope they don't ruin The Giver. It is one of my favorite books ever, it won the ******* Newberry Award for God's sake. From the trailer it seems as if they're turning it into a stupid teen movie with a romance- there weren't even any major female characters in the book!

I thought they would try to make a tween romance film about Kony or the Somalian pirates.

The teen stars are sexy in the movies but in the books they describe themselves as ugly or meh at best
