I consider that to be a strength of Adventure Time. They've built an interesting world with a pre-concocted backstory, and strong continuity, but instead of giving the series a big overarching plot that each episode feels the need to advance, they've let themselves tell the stories they want to. Episodes of Adventure Time affect and are affected by the bigger picture, but they're allowed to stand up by themselves and just be good.

commencingfailure (12/13/2015) [-] To be frank I really like the characters in Regular time. The plot is mostly stupid and nonsensical, but comeon it has it's moments :^( I don't really watch cartoons to begin with, but the 5 episodes I saw were pretty decent
