NOPE, I DENY YOUR CLAIM ON JOKER

Joker was trying to show that everyone, down on the inside, was like him. He says he's an agent of chaos but has actually meticulously planned out each and every move.

He might have been insane, but he was logically insane, damn it

yeah the chris nolan version of him..... it was all artsy and he was supposedly trying to do it because he believed himself to be a bringer of chaos or something which just fit the theme of the movie ... Dark Knight was fantastic dont get me wrong but I honestly thing the real joker is even less ordered and thoughtful than that. He just does **** to be doing ****, not to prove anything or show people that the world is chaotic, just because he is chaotic.

He is insane but he is also a genius. And he IS an agent of chaos, but it takes a lot of careful planning to bring down the systems civilizations rely on, which is a necessary step to achieve chaos. Remember his line "When all the chips are down, these 'civilized' people? They'll eat each other." His goal was to show how quickly people change their behavior when things start to collapse. He wanted to show that deep down, without the bonds of civilization, people were all crazy animals, and as we saw in DKR, he was right.

See comment 38. Not that it really argues your point, he DID have a specific goal that was driving him.

Only time Joker didn't lie was when he said "No I'm not!" when they called him mad. He knew he was different and just accepted it.

He said that he did it because it was funny under the cloak of his apparent insanity as a cover for his actual plans. He knew full well what he and everyone else was doing, and used it to genuinely make it funny by blowing up a hospital

Jack Nicholson's joker did it for the lolz, the guy didn't even have a goal to accomplish, he just makes art, until someone dies.

Agent Smith was wholly liberated from the original job he was programmed to do (keep humanity in check) by the time he'd been able to multiply himself as a virus. When Neo destroyed him, he refused to return to the source and be deleted, and instead manifested as a rampant being who had become a threat to Neo, who had deprived him of purpose, and the Deus Ex Machina, who had damned him to the Matrix in the first place.

"Do I really look like a guy with a plan?"

You planned out everything with a great deal of precision ahead of time, so kinda, yeah.
