Scuba diving is a lot more fun in open water than in a pool.
User avatar #15 to #3 - captainfuckitall (04/23/2014) [-]
Looking at that picture, I can see why.

Not unless you're one of the lucky ones to enjoy Scottish diving.
Wear a dry suit and undersuit, still ******* freezing. Slight change in current, or a fin kick too close to the bed and the viz goes from okay to utter **** (You cant see to the end of your arm, even with a torch).

Don't get me wrong though, when the water is calm enough, its great diving, plenty of life.

except if you aren't wearing a wetsuit. brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..

Then a fish brushes up against your naked leg.
#28 to #27 - stegosaurusrah (04/23/2014) [-]
this fish, specifically
User avatar #38 to #28 - chimpaflimp (04/23/2014) [-]
Isn't that a stonefish? As in, lies perfectly still on the seabed until you step on it, at which point its spines inject venom into you?
User avatar #39 to #38 - stegosaurusrah (04/23/2014) [-]
it is actually a red scorpionfish, and besides being a bit ugly i think they are harmless
User avatar #40 to #39 - chimpaflimp (04/23/2014) [-]
It looks like a stonefish, but not as lumpy.
User avatar #29 to #28 - fuzzysixx ONLINE (04/23/2014) [-]
That look breddy spooky. Seriously though, any fish. Makes me want to an hero.
User avatar #30 to #29 - stegosaurusrah (04/23/2014) [-]
nah, i really don't like it when they nibble you, but i've never been brushed by one
User avatar #45 to #27 - somenerd (04/24/2014) [-]
That would basically be the fish trying to get eaten. They don't go to you. Other than a barracuda. They are quite eager to meet you.

Whats the point.
Cat's don't have a clue what's going on at the best of times.

I'm curious what they did for the cats ears though

If you've never dived or understodo what I'm talking about, water pressure ***** with your ears and you normally need to jiggle your jaw or blow with a plugged nose every few minutes to releive pressure
User avatar #10 to #6 - speedyonbiscuit (04/23/2014) [-]
I'm not an experienced diver, but would that apply for an aquarium?
User avatar #12 to #10 - biggrand (04/23/2014) [-]
yeah, I've only dived indoors and that still happens, even when you're only 10-15 feet below
User avatar #13 to #12 - speedyonbiscuit (04/23/2014) [-]
I would guess this cat is drugged then, because every cat would flip **** under those circumstances.
User avatar #14 to #13 - biggrand (04/23/2014) [-]
the ear tubes could be different with a cat too, I'm not too familiar with cat anatomy. the shape of our ear canals causes air to get stuck on one side basically
User avatar #16 to #14 - speedyonbiscuit (04/23/2014) [-]
I was actually about the cats anatomy being different in some way, especially their ears.

But i was thinking that pressure is pressure, it's not something you can be immune to.
User avatar #17 to #16 - biggrand (04/23/2014) [-]
The pressure in the ears though I thought had to do with there being oxygen stuck behind ear walls
User avatar #18 to #17 - speedyonbiscuit (04/23/2014) [-]
So... Cats breath through their ears?...
User avatar #19 to #18 - biggrand (04/23/2014) [-]
no, but oxygen doesn't escape the ears if you simply descend in the water because it's rising up in general. I really might be totally wrong about this

User avatar #20 to #19 - speedyonbiscuit (04/23/2014) [-]
Nah it's sound logical. Cats are just wierd
User avatar #21 to #20 - biggrand (04/23/2014) [-]
If a pussy can withstand the pain of a 12 inch cack in a porno then a pussy can probably handle some ear pains
User avatar #22 to #21 - speedyonbiscuit (04/23/2014) [-]
That was a sudden turn of directions this discussing took...
User avatar #11 to #6 - thetom (04/23/2014) [-]
his entire head is in the helmet. unlike when humans dive we just have goggles and a breather. also they didn't dive very far.
User avatar #23 to #11 - tinglyturtletaint (04/23/2014) [-]
That doesn't matter...Your ears will do the same thing in a plane and it is sealed.
User avatar #24 to #23 - thetom (04/23/2014) [-]
wait how does it affect you if you are in a pressurized room like on a plane?
