^^ yeah I think that stat was based on how many people in a certain region have the blue eyes mutation in their genes, you have to have an ancestor with blue eyes to have blue eyes, or so the science says
This is oversimplified and inaccurate. If there were one gene that dictated eye color, this might be accurate, but there are over 15 separate genes in play.
It's not that they change color, it's that either the yellow or the blue is being contrasted to surrounding environment colors (cloudy weather, certain clothes) and are thus perceived differently at different intervals.
Me too, maybe a bit more bluey-grey with smaller poop stains. My grandad had it, and so do all of his children and all the grandchildren, seems to be a pretty resilient gene
Technically, that's a minor form of hertrocromatia (or however you spell the two-eyes-both-different-colors thing). You can tell my the ring of color; sometimes it can be a bright pronounced yellow ring.
Similar to mine...
They used to be more brownish when I was younger.
Never thought about 'poopstains' though...
Thanks for that
Things will never be the same.
this triggers me immensely, they are supposed to have dark blue eyes, not radiating BSOD shade, also the whole movie was a ******* joke, god damn it i hate lynch so much
That's a very basic chart to show the likelihood of eye colour, considering there are 6 allele pairs that control eye colour. This is why there is such a variety from dark brown through hazel, green, blue and grey.
>in science class learning about genetics
>for are homework one night we have to map out as much of our genetic tree as possible
>next class some kid doesn't show up
>after a few weeks we see why on the news
>apparently his parents both had blue eyes
>he had brown eyes
>dad got suspicious and got paternity test
>turns out mom had been getting around and dad didn't know he wasn't dad
>long story short after a standoff with the police and some drunken disorder the dad got up behind bars, mom ran off, and kid left college
>he was kind of a jerk but that seemed a little much for him
My fathers eyes are blue, my mothers eyes are green, and my sisters blue. I'm the only one with really dark brown eyes. The same goes with hair color. My sisters are blond. Except for me. I'm have very dark brown. I need to speak with my mother.
My mom has blue eyes and my dad has brown eyes. I have green eyes. Yet I have my birth certificate stating that they're both my real parents and my grandma apparently has a video of me being born, although I haven't seen it.
There are different ways of colors coming across. Like there are grey eyes as well. Yours could be hazel (unless they're really definitely green). Eyes just aren't really that simple.
