Throw in some Active Texture Management so you don't crash from lack of memory and enjoy a far more realistic space program (if you're into that **** ).
You like cool KSP stuff? Hope you don't mind if I share something, then...
Dug this out of an older save, it's slow as balls, and I've since discovered better and faster methods to make walkers, but back when I built it, it was my pride and joy.
This walker can walk forwards, backwards, turn left, turn right, and can walk endlessly as long as you stay with it and don't time accelerate. If you're persistent, you could leave KSC behind in just a few days.
It'll even continue walking while you're EVA'ing on it. Kerbals can walk on the deck of the moving walker,
I also have a version of this which doesn't walk quite as well, but it has a rotating, reloadable, mounted deck gun, which can fire while the walker is moving.
Looking good so far, though. Very sexy.
Pic related, it's the ship at its current development phase.
No legs yet.
Picture taken moments before it failed parachute test on Kerbin
It is finished, and if I do say so myself it is kinda badass.
The entire deck is reachable without using the jetpack, while the walker is moving.
The deckgun is quite possibly the ********* gun I have ever built.
Now to slap some rockets on this bad boy and invade Duna.
I always get the shakes before a drop. I've had the injections, of course, and hypnotic preparation, and it stands to reason that I can't really be afraid. The ship's psychiatrist has checked my brain waves and asked me silly questions while I was asleep and he tells me that it isn't fear, it isn't anything important — it's just like the trembling of an eager race horse in the starting gate. I couldn't say about that; I've never been a race horse. But the fact is: I'm scared silly, every time.
This is the KSS Fargfive reporting from the surface of Duna. Our frigate has successfully landed and there has been no enemy resistance.
Mission accomplished.
Okay, so it turns out that these things are hard as **** to land. And it turns out that if your parachutes don't work on Kerbin, they ain't gonna work on Duna. Who knew?
Yeah, I was following a guide on steam of how to get the best start possible, but I dun goofed somewhere and missed out on like 20 science so I couldn't get the thermometer, like this guide wanted me to and then it tells me to build this ship, but I'm missing a couple of parts so I build with what I have and then i do what the guide tells me to do and I just plummet back down to earth, -.-
