While I was away at college, my bros high school grades started tanking. She literally took away the xbox 360 power cord (the source of his issues). My brother, in his infinite wisdom, salvaged an identical cord from our disused desktop computer. This went unnoticed for three years until I got home and noticed the xbox cord was a different color from the brick.

I use the same power cord for my original xbox and PS2. It also works on my old desktop.
