I started out sculpting, looking at whatever I'm trying to replicate (if I'm sculpting something specific or a model) and break it into simple shapes, then further 'refine' it and add detail. So of course when I started drawing, the same concept applied and came easily to me. Very informative and interested.

Pic related, my sculpted WIP Marowak and Cubone. Pokemon are excellent examples for this technique because most of them are just simple shapes with smooth edges.

I tried to sculpt a few weeks ago. Decided a pokemon would be easiest since I know them well and they have nice rounded shapes - well, some, anyway. I thought about it and picked an eevee since it's a pokemon both I and my boyfriend love. Four hours later I have a fairly decent eevee about 3 inches long. I put it down and wash up and when I come back I see all the mistakes and ********** of it. When my boyfriend sees it he initially says it looks good, and then eventually breaks and says I maybe should have started with something easier. Like ditto.

TLDR: I tried something new and was **** and have never tried again.

Aww never give up! My artist idol once told me 'Art small and often, and never let yourself feel like something you made was a failure.' You created a likeness of something you hadn't before, thats a success in my book. :3

And thank you~

Sculpy Original polymer clay mostly, sometimes I use Fimo if I'm making something small and colored.

Those sculptures are insane. They look like they just popped out of Battle Revolution. Amazing

Thank you! Here's the Magikarp, by far the most colorful pokemon I've done.

lol I also made a Magicarp, an Eevee, and a Mew. I'm about to make all the starter sets and possibly make a post for FJ to see them, maybe offer them for sale

I also do WoW stuff, I made a Tauren bust but the picture has my feets in it because I really only made it to show my girlfriend lol
