Are you just telling me that these baked potatoes are a typical spanish dish? Is it a tapas thing?

Wash, cut in half, apply olive oil to the cut side, add some coarse salt and if you like rosemary (great!) or caraway (meh). Put it into the oven...great side for any bbq.

Those are pasteis de nata (pastel de nata in English) i think. It's a dessert. A kind of pastry cup filled with cream, sometimes curdled.

American here,

Lived in Portugal from age 7-12. Those were 5 of the best years of my life. Thanks, Portugal.

Also lived in Germany, which made watching USA/Portugal/Germany duke it out in this past World Cup awesome and sad at the same time.

#101 to #92 - zielscheibe (01/29/2015) [-]
Thats cool - so we can count on Mexico in our next Axis forces alliance ? Great , you guys can have italy's place - nobody needs italy as ally in a world war

That would make invading the USA pretty easy
#110 to #101 - xxmemosxx (01/29/2015) [-]
They tried it in WW2 but Mexico didn't have their **** together. Can't see it being much different this time around
User avatar #148 to #101 - rockamekishiko (01/30/2015) [-]
Germany wanted an alliance with Mexico but US is/was too big of an ally and economic power to side with the axis.

Plus, I think Hitler would have had 80% of the population of Mexico in concentration camps seeing as how most are mestizo
User avatar #150 to #148 - zielscheibe (01/30/2015) [-]
Dont be fooled by post war ideas of what the nazis did -

There was a Spanish Division ( the blue Division) - and the SS accepted all kinds of people. Even from Iran and Asia

The whole conzentration camp thing is way overdone and at some points untrue

Mexico would have made the perfect allie for America would have thought twice about going to war with German if 20 german Divisions would be ready to go on it's southern border.

And the army of the USA was the worst around pre 1936. So i imagine it would be very hard for them to defend the USA and bomb the **** out of europe at a time.
With fresh mexican forces , the axis could have blitzkrieged all the way up to Virginia within weeks.

Promise the southern states of America to reintroduce a new CSA and found the new formed rebels of the confederacy with money and weapons.
Once we reach that point the left over USA would slowly collaps.

Mexico would gain certain areas of California and Texas .
The USA would be handeled as defeated nation just like france and the
southern nations would be free and equal members of the new formed german anglo american alliance.

Reintroducing a gold bound dollar and social system with healthcare and pride.

Defeating the soviets with the pure power of american industrie -
Gathering all the money the FED and rich * people of a certain religion* had at that time. Using this very money to put a siege on the UK and refine the nations occupied.

Make a seperate peace with the UK and allow them into the new formed alliance as a free state and mamber - once the monarchy and Chruchils band would have been sent to exile and the UK would be reformed as a pure democracy .

Germany would not have forgotten true allies and helped Mexico to develope into a powerful, proud nation.

that ia what i think might have happened.

Okay so, you know how we Americans ******* love 4th of July with all the American flags, patriotism and irresponsible use of explosives and alcohol? Most people that celebrate it just swap it out for Oktoberfest with German flags, German patriotism and irresponsible use of explosives and German Alcohol.
