According to the steam reviews it seems that the developers have been trying their best to make it as anti-fun as they can. Like reading through strategy guides on the internet and changing the game to ruin the strategy, along with pointless nonsense additions to the game to make everything more tedious like carcasses
I played a bit and the odds for most things seem stacked against you hardcore
never touch books in the dungeons, ever

The stream reviews are a group of 8 people who are super salty their old strats don't work anymore, The game is pretty fun, just expect failure. You can turn off a lot of the "tedious" stuff but honestly that would make the game pretty boring.
