Another HURR LOOK NO WEAPONS SIGN WHAT AN IDIOT HURRRRRRRRRRR post.
You people are ******* stupid. Allow me to explain:

1) Certain States/Territories allow concealed carry, even so many places do not wish firearms on their premises. It is their right to do so, it is not directed at criminals because what's the chance they're going to listen?

2) If it is a school zone for example, additional charges will be levied on the individual. If they find a gun in a kid's locker, even if he has not done anything, charges will be levied. It is a legal tool in that respect.

Stop being ignorant twats, you're no better than those open carry fools in Texas when you do dumb **** like this.

I work on a military base. It is a firearm free zone, with the exception of security forces. I have a concealed carry permit and extensive firearm training however as I follow the rules I am forced to leave my firearm at home.
Do you know who's not going to give a **** about that sign? The guy who wants to come shoot people.
Yes there are security forces, and the shooter will undoubtedly be killed but how many will die before they arrive?
How many would die if when I see the active shooter I end the situation before it develops?
You're a complete idiot, and your opinions are wrong. Which is impressive btw, because opinions usually can't be wrong.

Dwarfman --

I agree with you regarding a few points and disagree regarding a few others. From what I've read, you may or may give a **** about what I disagree with, but this is one forum of many on which it's possible to share our viewpoints and learn from one another and I should hate to see us, as reasonable men, squander that opportunity.

I agree that the "gun cultists," as you call them, have gotten carried away. At least half of the gun-related content is simply thumb-whoring and thinly veiled propaganda.

I also agree that in a free market economy, individual business owners should have the right to declare who is and isn't coming into the store and with what. (Yes, in all instances. That's another debate, though.)

I also thought, however, that Dangler was correct to point that he's clearly qualified to manage a firearm and yet he cannot in a place where he may very well be shot to death for no other reason than because his lacking of the ability to protect himself which, in some instances, is mandated by law. It has already happened that mentally unstable people target such places and members of the Armed Forces have died needlessly as a result. I'm not implying anything beyond the immediate; in some cases, no-firearms-allowed is bad policy. I'm not advocating extreme measures like arming all public school teachers.

Part of the problem with America's gun laws was perfectly demonstrated by you, Dwarfman, and Dangler. You both look to be mature, reasonable people who forgot to look for points of agreement and so perpetuated the massive political divide which has caused so much stagnation already. There's gotta be a middle ground, here, and, more importantly, we've gotta have a society willing to find that middle ground.

Thank you! Ok then I've owned firearms technically since I was 12 and my great uncle left me the **** he stole from the Nazis, in practice I've been an owner since I was 18. It comes from the practical reason I may or may not be robbed at some point, threatened with violence, or what ever. That happens I'm not caught with my pants down.

The gun cultists are my problem. I'm in New Jersey, I had to get finger printed, waiting period, all that Bought an M1 reproduction and a glock after I moved here so yeah I'm aware of the process. All that **** only exists because of Camden and Newark, yet after they curtailed local sources they went over the river into Philly to get it. Then report it "stolen", suddenly some hood has a gun with the serial number ground off and a cop is dead.

My state complained, Mayor Nutter complained Philly's murder rate has recently surpassed Camden's , Harrisburg sided with the dudes that own all the gun shops. That's my beef currently. Even this rash of mass shootings, only the recent one in Cali was the fault of the police not acting, most end up being the parent/guardian leaving them easily accessible, then their kid takes it and shoots up his school. Why were they allowed to have them if their kid is nuts? Or why are they not punished afterwords for not being more responsible?

We could disarm, the Aussies did it successfully, but I don't want that. Canada has more guns per capita and much less violence. Britain disarmed and has had the same amount of violence, clearly they're only part of the overall problem. Teabaggers beat off furiously to their gun rights and the Hipprogressives cry they're the scourge of man. They wail so loudly no one hears the more responsible politicians and no debate can be had.

Thank you for taking the time to reply, Dwarfman. Great response. It's really cool that your great uncle left you such treasures. I'm a little jealous.

I can see that you speak from a place of experience and that your views are very reasonable. I prefer not to call members of the Tea Party "teabaggers," for the same reason I prefer people not call the President "Odumbo" or the Democrats "demonrats," but other than that very small detail, I agree with every word you wrote.

Personally, I think fixing the economic problems which plague us is probably the single best gun control measure we could advocate. Mind you, that doesn't necessarily preclude preventative gun control, to whatever, preferably moderate, degree, but we should really focus more on taking away the desire to shoot others through social inclusion and education, imo. I've noticed that one MAJOR common denominator in serial killers is long periods of social exclusion, at least partly self-imposed. It's the only factor that appears every single time, unless I'm missing something.

Anyway, thank you again for taking the time to write your great reply. I wish you the very best in all you do.

It's partially the mental health crisis, partially the watchdogs being caught sleeping on the job, and partially irresponsibility of owner. All of them need to be addressed, but like always Politicians demonize one piece of it. As for the rest: Don't personally respect the Tea Party or Progressives, both represent the evils of conservationism and liberalism that has bred the political powder keg we live in today. With the former being a creation of the Koch Brothers and the living embodiment of the problem of money in our politics.

1. The military is necessary to defend the country. Just because politicians are using them for retarded purposes like invading helpless countries for oil doesnt mean the military itself is bad. They are only a tool of the people in charge. But when your the size of the US, you have to be able to defend yourself.

2. Yes people have the right to ban guns from their private property. And people have a right to point out stupidity. Disarming lawful people just makes your a target, not safer.

3. In case you havent noticed, MOST MASS MURDERS KILL THEMSELVES WHEN THEY ARE DONE. Va Tech, Fort Hood, Columbine, Sandy Hook, etc etc etc. You can't press charges on the dead. And if you kill one person, your probably gonna spend life in prison anyway. What extra penalty is there for 20+ more?

You make mass generalizations, ignore common sense, call people ******* stupid, then bitch about no one making a logical argument but you can't even make one yourself.

Bottom line is, a military base is exactly what gun control advocates want: a small number of guns in a "controlled" amount of hands with extreme penalties for violating the rules (court martial). The only problem with that is, people only obey until they stop caring about the penalty. When a person decides to start shooting and kill themselves at the end, they are far beyond caring.

1) The way the current generation of soldiers act is shameful, so yes I don't like the fact I am paying them
2) They may ban guns from their property, doesn't mean they themselves do not have one
3) Again not for the mass murderers, it's targeted at lesser offenders

The rest of your **** is just you being ****.
