truesmokewolf (04/06/2015) [-] Absol can be good if you Baton Pass it some stats, especially the mega with its Magic Bounce, making it invulnerable to Parahax, Burning, etc. But other than that, I find its stats to be mediocre and really lacking. It needed its mega to be a regular evolution. And to get that Flying subtype for those wings for STAB Aerial Ace.

Like I said, Baton Pass Mega Absol some stats and you've got a good thing going, but otherwise, it's just lacking in competitive.

Absol's base speed is 75. Mega is 115.
That means it is outsped by most of the meta and its low defenses mean it is absolutely demolished by Mach Punch and Vacuum Wave.

Absol should be used against Ghost/Psy Pokemon first, and anything it isn't weak to as a backup. I'll agree that Absol's speed is slightly below average as a total, and that your point about the mega being a regular evolve is a solid point and I'd love to see it, but all in all, Absol is a pretty solid Pokemon without having to use baton pass (not saying you shouldn't).

fatbutler (04/06/2015) [-] I'll give you that. I set up my Absol as a sweeper to take out the annoying ghost/psychic types quickly. That being said, I know that Absol isn't the best choice for a sweeper, but it can take out a lot of unprepared opponents quickly, and if you need a dark type I always take Absol.

and as for Absol, it will shred well 3/4s of the fighting type. Where it has it's walls, there is certainly not an entire type that can wall it.
