So i'm 18, and I still do this when my mom is with me, but when I'm away from her I'm a fairly social and well mannered person who can carry out a regular conversation fine. Do I have cancer?

It's alway annoying when a teen comes into a shop and can't verbalise a single word without stuttering twelve times, avoiding eye-contact and then waiting for their parent to walk up and tell you what the boy wants, even though you can tell she's got everything wrong, he just doesn't want to correct her.

Or, they talk to your though their parent.

Hah.
Seriously though... I don't know why, but it seems to be a British thing to not "bother" the doctor, and waste his time with our troubles.
Inb4 someone calls me out I'm British

DUDE, GO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
You could literally be destroying your ankle, if you haven't already.
If you've shattered the bone you're ******.
But honestly, if you're walking around on it, it can't be horribly bad.
I'd still go see a doctor though, dude, you're allowed to complain about pain, don't destroy your body because of some mis-placed sense of pride.

I'm 22, I don't look to my mom anymore, but if she's there, she'll sure as hell jump in regardless. I don't argue, she's better with verbalized word than I.

Every. *******. Time.
Called my mom today telling her I'm coming home from school, explaining to her and my teachers thoroughly what was wrong with my back but as soon as I got to the doctors I was suddenly not brain.
