Well I know nobody will believe me, but here goes anyway.

I beat Skyrim on the hardest difficulty (I think I hear they more recently added a harder difficulty, but I had quit by then) by only punching things, and in the lightest armor possible even though I forbid myself from sneaking or using magic. I wasn't even a Kajit, because their punches are too good. The only fights I couldn't do were the fights with Alduin, because that ****** is for some reason immune to punches (his hit box is too small), so I had to switch to an iron dagger. I thought I would be proud of this great accomplishment, but I was just disappointed that even with all of these handicaps, I only died a handful of times. So, I think I can safely say that, even on the hardest difficulty, Skyrim is for casuals.

Skyrim is easy as **** , it's just ******* high hp making it a boring play

A guy takes a million hits to kill =/= the game is hard. I mean, I like Skyrim, but there's no denying that the combat system is awful.

I think its casual because how easy it is to use everything, and how simple the levelup and skill systems are.

Also, i dont really feel a game is "difficult" when they make it so you need to hit **** for ages before they fall over. A game should be "naturally" difficult.
I hate to use it as an example, but dark souls does this good. No difficulty levels, and its good enough.

To be fair, some playstyles aren't nearly as viable as others
I used to play a stealthy character but whenever I couldn't get a sneaky kill in three hits I'd usually be ******
While on my new character, a dual wielding orc, I can easily take down anything on master

yeah the game is kinda ****** up, stealth nearly never pays off (unless you only focus on melee stealth). So far i have made 3 skyrim accounts and have just given up because the game is so ridiculously unbalanced when you train more than 1 skill at the time.

I rely never liked the system where the enemies gets harder and harder as you go up in level, what is actually the point of leveling when the enemy is getting set up to your level each ******* time (if you level a non defense/attack skill doesn't matter)?

I remember when i could do 4 hits with 20x dagger and wasn't even able to kill a Bandit.
4/10 won't even bother to try.

I played a stealth character with a something ridiculous like 20x stealth damage modifier. I had 100 sneak too, so I could kill everything short of dragons and Draugr Master Deathboss Overlords in one or two strikes

Dragons were like impossible to kill, though

Exactly
While that dual wielding orc of mine pretty much grinds them all to minced meat

I'll be honest, I play on Adept. But only because I have the **** ton of mods that make adept pretty damn hard. Especially Frostfall and SkyRe and The Book Of Silence.

Don't get me wrong, I liked the game but the sword play was absolute ******* garbage.

**animedudej rolled a random image posted in comment #6487777 at Safe For Work Random Board ** mfw after long enough time on Legendary it'l be a breeze... dragons will still wreck you though

To be fair, most say that because the Melee combat in the game is nothing but hitting the enemy with your sword until someone falls down. While the magic is pretty lame with little variety in it, and you can no longer make your own spells, (though you can never create the spells you wanted to anyway, because they cost a planets worth of gold)

Skyrim IS pretty easy, with an option to turn up how much health the enemy has and how much damage they do.

>the Melee combat in the game is nothing but hitting the enemy with your sword until someone falls down
What melee combat... isn't this?

Look up 'Kingdoms of Amalur' to see how a good combat system works.

Many games require dodging/blocking in order to stay alive.
User avatar #41 to #26 - hanabro (11/04/2013) [-]
So does Skyrim. Try going up against a Giant or a high-end draugr without blocking or dodging. You're ****** man.
#90 to #41 - RawrIeatchu (11/04/2013) [-]
'Dodging' meaning walking as fast as you can backwards from the enemy you are trying to dodge. Also keep your shield up because it doesn't work that well.

>implying playing on hardest difficulty is hard
>implying enemies arent just damage sponges

User avatar #29 to #16 - dtox (11/04/2013) [-]
They still hurt like **** , meaning you'll die quickly if you don't play safe enough.

It's almost suicide to try and get into melee range against a dragon while being low level and on legendary difficulty.
User avatar #22 to #16 - rhetoricalfunny (11/04/2013) [-]
Having played from the start, as a sword and shield type character, on the hardest difficulty.
Harder modes don't increase the "difficulty" by making enemies sponges.
They change the way you play.
You can no longer tank giants clubs to your wooden shield. You DO need to manage stamina, gauge distance, effectively stun to open, and maneuver so you're not overwhelmed.
This is coming from a Dark Souls player, Skyrim's combat has challenge and depth.
If people would stop bitching, and turn up the difficulty before they actually get to level max.
User avatar #64 to #22 - boydaranga (11/04/2013) [-]
I play Skyrim with Skyre and some combat move mods (Tk dodge and dual parry)
and if you set the difficulty to master, it is a very fair challenge. not very fair on legendary though.

But if you're looking for a more realistic challenge, check out the requiem mod. That **** makes the game HARDER than dark souls, even if you can quick save...

There is one thing though...fighting Alduin on Legendary is damn near impossible
User avatar #21 to #16 - kapane (11/04/2013) [-]
this this this a thousand times this. difficulty doesn't mean more hp on enemies.
#27 to #21 - coldbread (11/04/2013) [-]
Most (not all) games just plump up numbers with higher difficulties, especially when it comes to real-time or turn-based strategy games.
