The day the episode aired where Brian died the guy that lives a few doors down from me got mugged and beaten to the point of a still ongoing hospital visit. His name is Brian. According to the police incident report it happened about 10 minutes after the episode was over. Clearly that was not a day to be a Brian.

I guess me and OP are the only ones who miss Brian...

The episode where Stewie beatts the hell out of him, lights him on fire then shoots his kneecaps all over $50, and the free shot after, that was golden.

Plus i had a white dog who died last year, Brian reminded me of him.

I had a dog get hit by a car like a week before that first episode. It made me sad.

I can't believe people are taking this so seriously. I haven't even watched family guy in a year or two, but I'm 99% confident that he'll be back soon, and then there'll be an episode directly making fun of the people who got upset over it.

I don't see why everyone misses Brian.

User avatar #112 to #7 - tittylovin (12/13/2013) [-]
I'm getting sick of people saying this. There's a bit more to it than that:
>Mcfarlane realizes that Brian is essentially himself
>Accentuates his doucheness to the point where even people that agree with him hate him
>Beats him up constantly, shows how facetious and ignorant he really is, puts him in ****** situations
>Schadenfreude for everybody

later on,
>Gets a bit repetitive
>Most people hate Brian even more
>brian pepsi
I think there's a good chance he'll be brought back depending on people's reactions. Also, obviously it's a publicity stunt, but I still think it's his way of testing the waters.

inuyuru: everyone has said this.

As far as OP's statement, you're right. But, Stewie and Brian had some kind of adventure in every modern episode, even a minuscule one. Remember when Brian did shrooms and Stewie was there to comfort him? Imagine Vinnie doing that. It would suck ass. Brian was an egotistical McFarlane bitch, but him and Stewie were perfect together.

Because, although McFarlane used Brian to parade his political views, he also used Stewie to make fun of Brian and those views.
User avatar #64 to #17 - inuyuru (12/13/2013) [-]
Vinnie is just plain off putting.

And I know that people have said it before, but it's so drown out by the Family Guy Brigade that it barely matters.

User avatar #81 to #65 - secretdestroyers (12/13/2013) [-]
A) How are any of those things a problem?

B) That was the point. Seth McFarland is an opinionated liberal guy and Brian's voice was just his normal voice.
User avatar #122 to #81 - godhatesusall (12/13/2013) [-]
A) I don't know how you don't think obnoxious and douche are problems in character design. Opiniated and liberal go hand in hand in many circumstances, and Brian showed a very annoying stereotype of an extremely left-wing atheist. Don't get me wrong, I got no beef with liberals, but I do recognize that there is a stereotype of liberals getting really bitchy with people who don't agree with them.

B) Seth McFarlane has stated that Brian had STARTED off as "his character", but eventually started taking a different path character wise, but I don't really see how this point was relevant to Hawke's comment at all.

Thumbed you up because at the end of the day it's a bloody tv show... come on guys...
User avatar #18 to #14 - maybeimalion (12/12/2013) [-]
It's a TV show that has impacted many lives for over twelve years with the same formula. Even though to you it is just a TV show to others it was like a friend. Brian was a very important part of that friend. People cry over loss in books, and movies all the time. Why shouldn't a TV show feel just as real? Imagine you had a friend who was a real person, but then one day a very important part of them simply vanished and replaced with something annoying, and far less flattering. Then every one carried on like nothing happened... Now yes this is a cartoon made for 13-25 year old demographic, but it's still a cartoon that a lot of people watch and care about. It's a large part of a lot of peoples lives and it was sad to see such a beloved character go...even if some people did think he was just a tool for Fox to sell to the liberal agenda to "cover" the conservative news network. He was still a great character, that brought balance to madness in an incredibly mindless show, and he will be missed.
User avatar #29 to #18 - sonictheblueguy (12/13/2013) [-]
And look where we are now. I'm sorry but I'm not going to advocate people living a fantasy where all these made up people are your friends. Truth is you're so ******* alone the only way you get up in the morning is to pretend they're your friends. That will never change if it continues without interruption.
User avatar #131 to #29 - maybeimalion (12/13/2013) [-]
That is how YOU feel about it, I don't agree with the concept either, but I do agree with taking another look from the other side. No matter what YOU say it doesn't change how OTHERS feel. It's called empathy. Perhaps you should look into it.
#87 to #29 - anon (12/13/2013) [-]
if that's what you believe, then you must think that about all forms of fiction. and if you do, then **** , you seem like a pretty boring person.

everything comes from imagination, even Sonic (who is in your username).
User avatar #239 to #87 - sonictheblueguy (12/13/2013) [-]
I'm not saying you Can't imagine things but when you start living in a fantasy. so much so that you forget about reality and the fact that a cartoon character is removed actually affects your life.. well I think that's going a little far. To properly explain myself it would take a very long time and I'm not willing to bore you with my opinions. Honestly I think whatever you do where ever you are it's okay as long as you're happy. But don't force it on to other people by constantly bitching that something bad has happened. You don't get a cold and bitch about it on the internet.
