School is really a giant babysitting service with benefits. think about it, school starts at 8:00 (7:45 for high school) and what time dose your parents go to work? Anywhere between 6 to 8 right , and at what time do you leave school 3:00 (2:45). And what time dose you parents get home? between 4 to 6 right . Quite covenant that you stat and leave school around the same time your parents go to and from work. eh?

You can actually compare school to a prison though.
Although prison is much tougher than school, there are some similarities such as a practical recess time.. Prison has better lunches ect.
But still, school is nothing like prison.

where are you from then? in most european school you have choice of like 3 different meals, there are quite strict laws about it, in my country there is even competition about school with best cousine... on public schools ofc

there most schools have various sports playground and park within their area, at my college there were table football and pingpong tables, free wifi... food in cafeteria was from company which sells food to various office buildings cafeterias, thats even at lower grade schools

some teachers were tarded but thats everywhere

I live in America. But I live in Florida. In the state of florida, since it's education standards are extremely low, the schools are low on funds and there are more and more budget cuts which at the cafeteria means their "healthy, fresh foods" are prepackaged and heated up by the hundreds. It's terrible. Ever went to mcdonalds This is an example that can be used world wide because mcdonalds is international. and got a six piece nugget box? Halve that and instead of a medium soda give yourself skim milk and a small carton of orange juice from concentrate. That is your average lunch for someone that is part of Florida's education. I actually prefer to eat MREs than the "well balanced meals" given out by said cafeteria.

horrible, then i understand why you said that about school and prison

really, USA should stop to be scared about anything close to socialism, i don't agree with everything in EU either and IMHO walfare there is too far, but many things are good and it helps to improve lifes of all citizens, at least basic things like health care or free education even on university( in the end better educated person means more productive citizen for economy)

pic of whats usually school lunch in my country, sometimes it's bit worser but not that much(im vegetarian and as far i remember there was always vegetarian meal as one of options)

I actually have no problem with other forms of government or lifestyles and I'd love to see this country give the poor better help and the rich, less help. I think we need free health care and better, more refined welfare and such. I'll admit it, but my family is unemployed, I have a disabled mother She's physically disabled, she was in a car accident and slipped discs in certain parts of her neck and spine me and my 18 year old high-school dropout brother. I can't work because I haven't hit the age to do any sort of work that stems between a few hours meaning low pay and small hours. So assistance is what my family needs but we live off of a small amount of money month to month. I know I'm not the only one that lives this way so I just wish we could reform many things...

;/ As much as I love school. I learned most of my history from picking up a history book and reading dis ****.

Had I simply stuck to public school history, I'd probably be a lot more like those American stereotypes. Not trying to diss, but our history lessons were pretty lacking.

I feel you, I'm literally one of the top in my class in all Social Studies classes (history, us government, world history, etc) because I actually do outside reading, not like anything serious, just like casual stuff, but its sad how the average person at my school doesn't know who Mussolini is

I know you probably don't care, I just like talking sometimes :/

I ended up not having to do any work in my US econ/Social studies class the whole year because my teach made a bet with the class that whoever scored highest in a mock US citizenship test wouldn't have to. I scored a 89, runner up scored an 87, class average was even 50.

I just don't think you can cover US history in a semester. :/

and yes I curr, I curr alot.

Yeah, I guess not. Its a shame though, because some people feel as if History isn't important simply because its not "Math or Science" and while I don't intend to major in a History related field, its still important.

Like it sad thinking these people will run the world one day, and I know I'm generalizing, but if you saw the idiots at my school you'd understand Literally last class some dumb bitch said she doesn't believe History happened because "How can we actually know it happened?"

They're obviously talking about the American Civil War since that's when it ended, probably assuming it was a surrender term, while in fact the Emancipation Proclamation was executed in 1863.

The Emancipation Proclamation only freed slaves in the south though. And since the south didn't recognize US laws at the time, it technically didn't really do anything.
