Neil Armstrong
A photo of Neil Armstrong taken only moments after he returned from first walking on the moon. A teary-eyed Armstrong looks at the camera, rendered speechless by what he has just experienced. It's a beautiful portrait taken by Buzz Aldrin after they returned to the Lunar Excursion Module, and beautifully captures the emotions he later put into words when he said, "It suddenly struck me that that tiny pea, pretty and blue, was the Earth. I put up my thumb and shut one eye, and my thumb blotted out the planet Earth. I didn’t feel like a giant. I felt very, very small."

A lot of modern technology was invented by the Germans. Think of where we'd be if the war was won by nationalism rather than globalism.

The caption to this picture was not what I was expecting at first. I thought it was romantic love, but now I see it is love for the life of a fellow man.

Another fun fact for ye:

Neil Armstrong isn't crying in the picture, he's just incredibly tired. When he was aboard the Command module(the cockpit like contraption that stood in the moon's orbit with Collins when Aldrin and Armstrong landed on the moon) neither he or Aldrin had slept well because the beds were too large for them(on earth that doesn't make sense to not be able to sleep when the bed is too large- but they're in Zero G).

Armstrong is also one of the astronauts who said his journey "wasn't a lifechanging experience", which was a frequently asked question. He's a very rational man, which is a tendency among the capable scientists astronauts are.

Aircraft carriers have what is called an "arresting cable", a thick wire strung across the deck, and connected to a dampening system. Aircraft that land on carriers are equipped with a tail hook that is supposed to hit the cable during landing, the cable slows the aircraft down.

In this picture it looks like the pilot ****** up the landing and the wheels got caught up in the wire, flipping the aircraft over.
#9 - indonesia (12/27/2015) [-]
we had a wire problems one day. one man came over to my side and stand behind me. I didn't notice at first because he was small and stand behind me. I didn't mind at first cuz I thought it was one of the bros who partnered with me. eventually that man hugged me, and I said "bro, that's gay", didn't stop him tho, he just grabbed me and start kissing me. I was in a state of shock (because I accidentally touched a high voltage wire) so I never moved until I pulled myself together and in my mind I was thinking "what the **** am I gay?" then that guy just ask me if I'm okay and said "you were electrocuted and almost dead". Oh god at least it was no homo tho

I surprised that no one has commented on the Neil Armstrong photos and tried to say the moon landing was fake. I usually see a least one anon comment that we never went to it.
