Man did they **** up with this guy. He was a great candidate for becoming the joker, and they killed him off. Fair enough. But in doing so they turned the ******* joker into nothing more than a copycat killer, and that pisses me off.
They just weren't brave enough to do an actual Joker backstory. Nobody has, it was totally reasonable to expect people to hate it no matter what they did.
Plus, a big part of the Joker is that nobody has any idea who he really is. Having Jerome become the Joker would have totally nullified that, but it could have been interesting.
I don't see how it makes the Joker a copycat killer either... Killing someone happily and with showmanship isn't exactly original enough to "copy."
The show's real issue is that they can't do too much without developing the villains too much or making them too obvious to other characters. Casting did a great job with Penguin and Jerome, though, I hope to see them more again.
I have a lot of feelings about Gotham because IT COULD BE SO GOOD AND IT KEEPS ON INTRODUCING GREAT CHARACTERS BUT NOT HAVING THEM LIVE UP TO THEIR POTENTIAL.
But so much of what people like about the Joker is that no one really knows his background. In essence what Gotham did was not give the Joker the "Anakin from the prequels" treatment, which I thought kept that mystery alive.
Court of Owls, probably. Ra's Al Ghul, almost definitely not. Especially since (I think, could be wrong but I'm fairly sure) Gotham shares canon with Arrow and the Flash, and Ra's had been Ra's for sixty years before his appearance in Arrow.
I was thinking he might be Ra's al Ghul, too, but his stated motivation, that of retaking Gotham and putting his family's name on it, doesn't sound like something Ra's would give a **** about.
They also said that Hugo Strange would be involved in the creation of many of the villains in the series, so it might be him - though I'll keep my money on "Random guy from the court of owls"
implying he doesn't come back using the lazerus pit with green hair and makeup. or implying Barbara isn't going to the be joker since showrunners said they tinkering with the idea of a female joker like flashpoint paradox
you're entitled to your opinion and there is sort of a "novelty" to him that might not have lasted long term but no he was awesome. his 1 episode last season and that episode with his dad in the last episode was chilling and great
The novelty wore off for me in the episode where he killed his mom. he played the well-to-do part alright, but the moment he switched to twisted-mode I wasnt buying it. when his new boss said "gotham needs a hero" i knew he was dead and was pretty happy with that. part of me was afraid this was going to be the character that morphs into the joker, which would have been disappointing for a few reasons, but mainly because I just dont think kid is a very convincing actor
um i don't agree at all. If you saw the interrogation scene you'll see how he actually channeled Ceasar Romero, Jack nicholson and Heath all in one performance and made it his own
I'm going to have to agree with you, when I watched that scene in the interrogation room I just felt he wasn't a good actor and that his performance was a little cringe worthy.
Also about Gotham...I feel as if this show should have never been made, there was just no need for it whereas Flash and Arrow are lesser known hero's and those shows have brought in new fans to the superhero franchise.
oh so hes dead? good. my friend was raving about how he was such a good joker and showed me some clips. hes not the joker. hes just a pyschopath. the joker is a sociopath with pyschopathic tendancies. the main scene that told me he wasnt the joker was the russian roullete scene. the joker would have just pointed the gun at the other guy and pulled till he shot him then said something like oh i guess i DONT know how this game is played, too bad.
I don't actually watch this show, no tc, netflix, and I don't really no where to watch online nor do I care enough to remember. I mostly use my time on this site, youtube, and video games.
No, the rest of British t.v is just boring af. Only like 3 good shows and they are all like "wow this is amazing and not at all boring oh no it's over." And then they ignore the 90% boring **** .
Red Dwarf
Life on Mars
Doctor Who
Sherlock
Shooting Stars
8 out of 10 Cats
QI
Most British TV tends to be comedy panel shows with standup comedians (like the last 3 on the list, those are ones I like but there's way more) which fair enough if you're not into that kind of thing then that's like 90% of British shows out the window for you, but aside from a few ****** soap operas most British TV's pretty damn good
