Um I don't know how to break it to you but we do actually use the word syllabus here in the UK. You'll hear it a lot at Sixth Form and/or Uni. (It's another word for curriculum.)

Went to school, college and university here in England and I didn't hear it once. I always thought it was synonymous with 'curriculum' though.

its pretty much is, some places prefer curriculum, others syllabus

a sixth form is basically a college set up within a secondary school. i.e. you finish year 11 at your school, then come back into sixth form to do a levels, btecs etc with the same teachers as before.

however, the downside is you have to be around irritating, stupid Y7's for the next two years.

Yeah, that is just about it. At the beginning of the year I get six of em and I have to get them signed (still in high school, going to BLS). Basically half of the first term class structure questions that anyone asks are all on there, it gets annoying after a while.

correction: is the stack of papers that you skip to the end and sign because if you don't know what a class's basic requirements are then you really shouldn't be in an ordinary school.
