Well, guess what... they weren't all evil hatemongers. In fact, they aren't all straight cis white males... in fact, they were simply the first victims of this bigotry and we decided to ignore them or even join in the unwarranted witchhunt.
This has been a growing problem that many people have refused to acknowledge because it simply didn't fit their narrative. Well... here we are... we were more invested in disagreeing with our political opposition than actually being intellectually honest and moral human beings who give others the benefit of the doubt and respect.
TL;DR:
Some humans are mean. Others are not. This isn't based on political affiliation.
