i get the point he's trying to make and appreciate the effort but as far as those girls are concerned he's just an extremely beta dude

The point he seems to be trying to make is that it's wrong to equate being nice and complimenting people with actually being rude or harassing people, because there's a lot of problems with teaching the next generation (or trying to teach them) that they are the same.
