It's **** like this that makes you realize how much less important everything else in life is. None of that **** matters once you realize you could have lost the ones you love.
Lost a good family friend to suicide over the Thanksgiving break, and very nearly lost my best friend as well. My best friend's getting better now, at least, but it really put into perspective just what I should be thankful for in life.
This happened in my home town. I was out driving when the tornado hit, a day I will never forget. After this happened the entire town seemed to become much closer and much more friendly with one another.
I live in Roscoe, Illinois which is just 40 minutes from Fairdale. The skies were scary that night. 4 tornados. EF0, 2 EF1s, and the dreaded EF4 that hit Fairdale. Of course, the sirens went off and everyone got downstairs. I can't imagine what is was like to those in the actual path of the tornado that hit Fairdale.
