But the excuses of why she can be black and why its good are sooo dumb.
Hermione is described as white, but who gives a **** just say she was a qualified actress and move on with it.

So long as they don't make her character in the play use her skin colour as the basis of character design then nothing has changed.

Honestly I haven't played a Metroid game. But unless her main character and personality and story relies on her being a female I would say it does not matter.

Never played Tomb Raider either <.< its on humble bundle I was thinking of maybe checking it out )

In the terms of Hermione , her character never relied on her being white she could of said the same things, done the same things as any race.

Its like in Fallout if you change your skin colour does all of a sudden your husband not get shot? Or your kid not be taken to What ever its called.

In grand theft auto 5 if Michael was a woman, would theyall of a sudden not rob banks or kill people, or preform heists. Can a woman not go a therapist or have problems with their teenage kids or cheating husband/wife. Would being a woman change that they faked their death to protect their family?

I don't think so. Maybe a writer might choose to make those changes, and if they did it would be stupid. But it could literally be the same story.

Yes for the reasons I stated above. And so long as , as the story wasn't prevalent on their gender and so long as the writers didn't change the story because the writer thinks that a gender or person with a different skin colour despite having the same story and background would so something different.

The point Im making is that once something in a story is set, it shouldnt be changed unless there are legit plot reasons. Its an insult to the audience and the writing itself. Would you repaint the mona lisa because "I wanna make her a guy now". no? why not? because you would be tearing down the originality of the piece. You would be taking art and changing it to go along with your dumb narrative and political ideals, and in my opinion art shouldnt be changed. Hence why Hermione should stay white, samus should stay female and so on and so forth. It kind of ties in with how warner brothers doesnt want to change their old cartoons kinda

In a lot of scenes in the harry potter movies Hermiones hair was straight , not frizzy and tangled. Should we be insulted? How is black going to change the narrative otherthan her skin colour. Is all of a sudden Hermine going to raise her fist and go "BLACK POWER" or go all " Oh hell naw , aint no one got time for that.." If your skin colour changed right now, would you talk differently, would you think differently.

If you want to make your point and prove it. I would give examples of what way her being black WOULD effect the outcomes in the story and the narrative. Would her being black cause her to not marry Ron, be a nerd, be friends with harry, be put in gryffindor etc. So far you have given nothing to exemplify a claim that it would change anything in anyway. Until then ^^ Have fun.

I dont think you quite get the point I am making. Changing aspects of art is wrong, regardless of if they are minute or not. I dont like fanfiction because it is a bastardization of the art it is based on. I especially dont like how the writers for LOK changed an entire ******* story ark between three characters because their fans demanded "DURR WE WANT THE GIRLS TO KISS". so they threw out a whole love triangle story ark and replaced it in two episodes. If it were the other way around and korra and asami were lesbians since the beginning, and they changed it so korra just suddenly turns straight, I would still not like it, because guess what? you're right that the gender, colour, sexuality etc of a character doesnt matter. But it does matter when it is established. its like when stan lee said superheros/villains shouldnt be changed. instead, make new superheros/villains. Changing characters is an insult to the characters, the creators, and art itself.

My opinion is that so long as they don't change the entire story over one 'minute' change it really doesn't matter.

Did you notice that the actor for ron isnt a ginger? Well, I guess they might dye his hair maybe. But if they dont, then I think you will see that they dont really care about artistic integrity, staying true to the story, etc. I guess we'll just have to wait for the play to see if they actually care about anything I just said. And I can see why you hold your opinions, and I respect your position regardless of whether or not I disagree with it.

I just want the story. as I said even inthe movie they had to cut out things, by what year 3 hermones hair was straight no longer crazy. One character as white, they even got ridof crabbe and goyle basically after what 4-5

And in a play theywill ahve to cut corners. So long as the portray the story and the dialogue well I'll be okay.

What I truly am upset with how ever is that this is starting in london, Meaning not everyone is going to be able to see it. ID LOOOOVE to take part in this and watch it. They need to make it more readily available for the rest of her fans! Like a book or a broadcast!

Yeah, plays if they do well come out with a novel version . But it usually takes years @.@
