I don't know if I'm incredibly lucky or unlucky that many of my major fetishes are standard fantasy/historical tropes.

Nice.

A few of my fetishes remain in the realm of "Eh, I guess it's not too bad," while most of my other ones delve into "You know you'll never get that in real life, right?" territory.

i have houseplants all over my apartment, and i seriously want to innocently put an illegal plant in there with them. not use it for anything bad, just to make people uncomfortable. cannabis is too recognizable, i think. my top pick right now would be a curare plant, also called the poison arrow plant. basically, if you have a paper cut and you touch it, it paralyzes every muscle in your body. i was also thinking maybe a peyote cactus or a coca plant.

if you want something simple you can hide then have this handy mushrom guide www.bhg.com/gardening/vegetable/vegetables/how-to-grow-mushrooms/

if you want somethign a bit more unknown two very subtle yet highly dangerous plants, the devil's trumpet datura inoxia and angel trumpets any variety of brugmansia might be kept indoors if you have a big enough pot

i've seen people shape angel trumpets before due to limited space or for decorative reasons but if unkempt they grow into huge tree like bushes. you must be very careful when cutting this plant because EVERY part of it can kill you
#84 to #83 - anon (10/21/2015) [-]
>>#64, i should also note yes they are used as hallucinogens, but seriously don't try getting high off these plants, you want a trip that won't kill you then stick to weed

Peyote is a good choice. Maybe Morning Glory or Hawaiian Baby Woodrose?

Both are used to make drugs too.

yeah, morning glory would be good. maybe passionflower or something, too. i'm really looking for that "taboo" aspect, though, and a lot of people have morning glory and passionflower growing in their yard.

Just want to quickly mention that hallucinogen =/= poison (necessarily)
The MAIN difference is that a poisonous plant or mushroom WILL kill you.
While a hallucinogenic plant like Acacia bark or roots will just get you "high" if taken properly.
A poison mushroom or plant for example, can be irreversibly fatal. that's completely different.

See, hallucinogens have an interesting history, most people in the past ate things by accident (mushrooms for example)
And ended up in laughing fits or the like, and modern scholars figured that it was some sort of toxin, rather than containing a mind alternating substance.
Of course there ARE some poisons that can make you hallucinate, BUT it's important to differentiate the science here.

Anyways I completely recommend natural and time proven safe psychoactive substances. The old ancients of the south west had a name for the species of psychoactive mushrooms that grew there, I believe it translates roughly to the "flesh of god". Having sampled a powerful species of shroom myself, I must say, they weren't wrong.

A lot of poisonous species of mushroom for example, are a death sentence if ingested. Usually you have 3 days left to live. Even if you went to a doctor the toxins cannot be removed. You are already dead.
#50 to #27 - anon (10/21/2015) [-]
That's like saying alcohol is not a poison because it doesn't immediately kill you.
We all know the only reason it has the effect it does is because it's a toxin.
User avatar #100 to #50 - infinitereaper (10/21/2015) [-]
Air oxidizes your cells until you die, too much water and you die, a few heavy drinks and you'll have a hanger, a bite from a black widow and you die. Some plants kill you, some plants just get you high.

Do I really need to explain the ******* difference?
User avatar #46 to #27 - nudybooty (10/21/2015) [-]
Not always true. Most hallucinogenics do some sort of damage to your body, not all, most. I'm pretty sure this garden doesn't have regular magic shrooms. You don't need to die for something to be called poisoning, if you get sick it's poison. Like if you eat uncooked meat and get food poisoning, raw meat is toxic to your body but unless you eat a whole chicken, you'll live. It says "These plants CAN kill you", meaning they have the potential to due so but not a guarantee.
User avatar #99 to #46 - infinitereaper (10/21/2015) [-]
You've got no idea what you're talking about, just about every hallucinogen shares the trait that it affects your serotonin receptors, this leaves no permanent or even temporary damage.
If you drink too much water you will die, is water poison to?
My point is that hallucinogens are not synonymous with toxins.
This is basic pharmacology.
User avatar #115 to #99 - nudybooty (10/22/2015) [-]
I want to meet you in person just so I can slap you. Stop putting words into my mouth and stop pretending to be a scientist. YOU'RE the one saying "if it kills you it's poisonousness!" According to your "logic" if I get hit by a bus and die it's poison. Poison can make you sick, harm you or do some damage you don't feel or poision can just be too much of something in your body, but leave you alive. Hallucinogenics can poison you, make you sick and kill you. And I want to slap you a second and third time for saying "just about every hallucinogen share the trait that affects your serotonin receptors, this leaves no permanent or temporary damage." Yes they affect serotonin, but they affect other things as well.

Puffer fish, it will make you hallucinate before you die. Atropa B something plant, it's also a hallucinate. That will murder your face off as your tripping balls. Both of these things are something called "neurotoxicans", simply put your body is like "peace out bitch!| and it shuts down then you either die from not breathing or your brain just gives up on life orr your heart stops.

Everything in existence has some sort of long term or shot term effect. LSD for example, it has effects on your shot term memory. It's not a large enough effect for anyone to care about, but it still effects you in the long run. Even weed, it's worse that smoking cigarettes (unless you eat it), because since no one puts filters on weed and the smoke is heaver, it does more damage to your lungs.
#116 to #115 - infinitereaper (10/22/2015) [-]
The problem is that you're full of **** and misconceptions.
I said some poisons can make you hallucinate but it's STUPID to think that all hallucinogens are inherently "poisons".
The ******* difference is that classical hallucinogenic plants all SAFELY act upon the serotonin receptors. Sure, another substance might CAUSE you to hallucinate but for very DIFFERENT reasons. It's NOT the same.

Actually while weed is bad for your lungs it's probably no more bad or even less bad, NAMELY because of all of the FILLER and tar that end up in ciggerates, it also doesn't apply at all to vaping or eating like you mentioned.

Being on your cell phone for 5 minutes affects your short term memory. Don't give me this ******** fear mongering.
There are quite a few serotonin receptors in the hippcampus which is related to memory, and while it's true that their MIGHT bea correlation with the down regulation (tolerance) from using a psychedelic it's temporary, even IF.

Shrooms have been found in studies to:
Promote nurogenesis
Create new pathways in the brain.
Dismantle pathways that cause PTSD
Permanent personality enhancement.

Psychedelics are relatively safe. Safer and LESS TOXIC than caffeine.
Please refrain from promoting misinformation

User avatar #117 to #116 - nudybooty (10/22/2015) [-]
The problem here is that you're one of those people who says "maybe if I use certain science terms people will believe my ******** "

Cell phones don't affect memory unless your on it for hours or you have one from 15 years ago. LSD doesn't affect short term memory long term. Weed is probably not the same, it's worse for the lungs. The smoke is heavier and no one uses any sort of god damn filter and on average (by weight) , pot heads smoke more weed that an average smoker smokes cigarettes, every last bit goes into your lungs.

Learn the difference between fear mongering and facts. For example: Mc Donald's is unhealthy for your body but as long as you eat it a maximum of once every 2 weeks, your body will be fine, as long as you don't eat other fast foods in that time. That is a fact.

Example 2: People who eat at Mc Donalds will be obese and die sooner than an average person. That's fear tactics.

You know that saying "Don't argue with an idiot because they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience"? That is how I feel now. I'm done. Congratulations you win.
