Well maybe if they haven't focused on those ****** episodes and went on to create HL3 a little sooner then maybe the hype wouldn't have built up this much.
But hey, if I had the choice between making money and making money while making games, I would probably do the opposite of what valve does.
Nothing can physically live up to the amount of hype that movie generated, it reached ******* critical mass. That doesn't change the fact that it's a great addition to the saga, trust me, I loved it, but it would have been smarter for Disney to bring it down a couple notches with the advertising and such.
Acting was probably my favorite part about 7, but some of the dialogue was kind of... silly. Being "tempted by the light"? That isn't even slightly lore-friendly nor true to life.
the hype began when the film was confirmed, when we knew about it being a real thing is when people started to say that. with Half Life, they never said they were going to do another, people just expected them to and that slowly built false hope and hype to the point it has become mythical.
Valve knows that the pressure to release something amazing is too high and too much of a risk to take.
Valve has officially confirmed a new Half-Life game multiple times since the end of Episode Two. That's probably where most of the hype has come from. I think it's a risk Valve is willing to take, and I'm confident that they'll make Half-Life 3 great.
As best product of valve each part of half-life must be epic as **** . If they would want release it today in form from 2009 it would be another shooter. In 2004 It was epic, because it was first production with shadows/physic in realtime/reflections. It has best graphic. And -thanks advanced physics engine. New level of realism. Next part will be released , when VR technology will be a standard in each house. Or, when they will be able to make photo-realistic graphic.
Well, couldn't the writer have already written the story, and now they're just waiting to develop the game? My personal theory is that Gabe wants to wait until VR/Oculus becomes widespread enough to release HL3 as a VR game.
Half Life 1 was one of the first games to do animations with skeletons and half life 2 had a revolutionary physics system. Half Life 3 will only get released once valve can do something as revolutionary as the other two games were, we will probably see something when vr gets released and is common place.
It is already written, just at the moment there is only a skeleton crew working on the game, consisting only of few people. Got the info from the funhouse guys video, on "The Know". cant remember which one tho
Well, he's the main story writer, and I'm guessing here, but I'm fairly sure that they write the story BEFORE they code the game (easier that way). So it could be that his part in the creation of HL3 is finished, and they no longer need him because the story is already done, and now the game just needs to be coded.
steve jobs "left" and there are still new iphones
monty oum "left and there is stil rwby
just because mark laidlaw left doesnt mean there wont be another half life.
i we just believe, then it wil come true.
Steve once stated that they will never make a phablet
The new iPhones suck. Hard in comparison to other phones for a quarter of the price (e.g. One Plus One; Xiaomi Mi 5,...)
RWBY isn't the same and comes close to sucks - only watching it now to honor oumy
Long story short, they could make it but it'll suck most likely.
If you seriously think that there is not already a majority of the writing already done for the game (which the company would have rights to, not the individual employee) then you are just dumb enough to think this matters.
Nobody codes **** until there is an actual game planned.
