Also, that by no means is the location of an underground human taxidermy ring. No proxies or anything because even too n00b to use incognito lol. But you should all come hang out at my place as seen on that there screenshot. Really. Fun times. Good dox bro you got me now come chill over here at my address.
This is a screencap of my desktop back when I first found the wallpaper, immediately changed font colour to green. The image is messed up cause it was a dual monitor setup and one was a 4:3.
What sort of work do you do that involves terminals? I love the scope of possibilities CLI offers, however, at college we don't really learn anything useful in case I, say, have to recover data from a dead HDD.
We use macs where i work (terminal is much more useful on mac than win), I'm a web developer, i mostly use the terminal for compiling code, cleaning various caches, pushing/pulling code with git, and remote accessing our local production server. I'm far from being a terminal pro though
We use Ubuntu in college for programming so I figured I'd install it home and have a dual boot setup and I've been using it for two years now. I've come to think of linux as poor man's Mac, cause they are similar in terms of functionality and reliability. And Windows... Windows doesn't come any where near close to Linux and Mac when it comes to reliability and security.
Really, only reason I still use Windows is for the video games.
Your job sounds interesting, I've been always interested in developing but, unfortunately, I'm interested in quite a lot of other things aswell. Next year I should be able to choose an elective and that might even by web developing.
It is indeed interesting, I don't regret choosing this field of work, it's fun, constantly evolving and thus doesn't get boring (at least so far, I've been doing it for about 2 years now), payment is not bad, I really can't complain. 10/10 would recommend
About the OS, I agree, I haven't had too much experience with linux but from what I know i would also say that it's probably the most stable, reliable and controllable (if you know what you're doing) OS. Mac is comparable in those regards plus neat design and "foolproofness" for the less tech affine people (who don't know what they're doing), and has some really great features for working with it. Windows as you say is best for gaming, which is why i use a PC at home.
