Most of the time that's all it is, but unfortunately facebook isn't very secure and unless you've enabled SSL, it's really not that hard to monitor all facebook traffic on a network including plaintext passwords that are sent when you log into FB

In Norway, we just call it "faceraped", I thought this was an international thing.

I think I got my fb account hacked once. Somebody posted on my wall using my name, basically telling a lame "I'm gay" joke in my native language and set a location for it... The weird thing is, Facebook reported that I had logged in from my own computer, when I was sitting here using it. So it seems either I had a 1-minute psychosis when I decided to post stupid **** like that on my FB, or someone actually hacked onto my computer only to do that.

Anyone have any theories as to what might have happened? I really do not find either explanations plausible.

Actually, under the legal definition of computer crimes - this can indeed be seen as the same thing the law depicts as "hacking". It's a class B misdemeanor, with a sentence of up to 6 months assuming libel causes no harm to the user.

It annoys me when people mention hacked in games, but using someones information without direct authorization from the user IS a crime.

18 U.S.C. § 1028 – Fraud and related activity in connection with identification documents, authentication features, and information; 18 U.S.C. § 1028A – Aggravated identity theft; 18 U.S.C. § 1029 – Fraud and related activity in connection with access devices; 18 U.S.C. § 1030 – Fraud and related activity in connection with computers; 18 U.S.C. § 1037 – Fraud and related activity in connection with electronic mail; and 47 U.S.C. 605 – Unauthorized publication or use of communications.

A good prosecution attorney can literally ruin someones life over this.
