I am studying sociology and politics at university and was recently approached by a group from the University feminist league to take a picture for the 'I need feminism because...' campaign. I agreed, and wrote 'because a persons gender shouldn't dictate their life choices'. One of the snarling radicals in the group told me to change it to being a women, otherwise it wasn't feminism. I then proceeded to get very angry at her and launched into a rant about how sexist the feminist movement is becoming. I managed to get this radical to admit to being sexist and accepting that some men also suffer unhealthy gender stereotypes. If you present your ideas in a logical fashion and show to an individual their own logical fallacies you may have a chance. Some people are so stuck up their arse they will never listen to an opposing opinion, regardless of what issue they represent. Have patience, they will always show themselves up in the end.

Before I got her to admit to sexism however she labelled me a traitor to my gender. I laughed, hard.

I prefere to yell my points at people, but I suppose your way works too.
