Oh **** off. I'm about 110 lbs overweight. So what If i die at 59 instead of 75. Rather be happy eating yummy food than miserable and hungry all the time just to appease shallow idiots. Even If I got super ripped like the Rock, my face is still ugly and I'm still 5'11¾" so I would still be alone and suicidal MY being fat does not affect you on any way shape or form and hating somebody due to their body type is no stupider than hating them based on gender, orientation, or skin color. Status report on exercise.

100/100 squats - Not bad actually. When I got to the 80's it was starting to burn. Stairs will be tricky the next couple days...especially if i attempt this tomorrow.
20/100 situps - I literally farted on each ******* sit up...Not joking...Every. Single. One. Holy **** , the stereotype is true...it wasn't no funny let er rip kinda fart it was that sort of tiny annoying fart. Around 20 I was laughing so much it hurt
10/100 pushups - holy **** im weak as **** . 10 was exhausting

10km running - its ****** outside. Replaced with 100 jumping jacks...by 70 It was burning so bad it almost fell down. i did make it though. My legs are gonna be so destroyed tomorrow...

since 100 jumping jacks doesn't replace running I got this nifty sitting peddle thing I will use for an hour or so...

holy **** my calves....

Lifting has been the best thing I have done for myself in a very long time. I JUST started before Christmas break and I already feel great and my depression has gotten a lot better. Not as many suicidal feelings, more optimism, the whole shebang. I do not know why you think you have to be skinny to be in shape, that is just plain ignorance. After lifting every day I eat a **** ton of yummy food to bulk. Sure its not like 6 slices of pizza, cookies, and twinkies, but damn I love having a great big meal after working out. Also I'm 5'6" so I do not want to hear you bitch about being nearly 6 feet. You can do whatever the **** you want brother, you just gotta get over this bad self image and go after life, grab it by the balls!

As a full time fat guy 5'9 200lbs, I dont know if this matters at all but I can do 7 pushups. Also do 8 curls with a 30 pound weight, 3 sets people, especially FJers need to understand that every fat person is not an sjw land whale. A HUGE majority of fat people know that being fat is bad. I am actively trying to change myself, but when people instantly think that if you're fat, you're a lazy blob of **** , It doesn't help. Give people a chance and don't judge based on a quick glance.

I have very poor genetics.
Im 6'4 and 265lbs.
I jog 2 miles on the treadmill in the morning and 1 at night, and i do push ups, sit ups, and use dumbells. 5 days a week.
I eat decent, around 2000 - 2500 calories, including high fiber (both kinds), healthy carbs, and good protein.
I drink lots of water and don't drink soda (it's been almost a year sinceive had fast food and soda)
And ive only lost 5lbs in the past few months.
Im strong as an ox, but i can't lose my body fat no matter how Much cardio or how many calories i cut.

Im following what my nutrionist said and I'm not any thinner.
User avatar #329 to #311 - stealthymuskrat (12/31/2015) [-]

User avatar #325 to #311 - brobathehutt (12/31/2015) [-]
Dude, 6'4 and 265lbs is barely overweight, but more than that you've probably gained a lot of muscle. Muscle is denser than fat and thus weighs more, so sometimes people who work out see themselves at the same weight or fatter - but its muscle. If you notice yourself getting more firm and less flabby ***** working it takes time to have extremely obvious muscles but you can be pretty damn good looking without super obvious muscles, because even if you have some body fat it's pretty obvious if you work out or not.
User avatar #326 to #325 - admin (12/31/2015) [-]
you need to be on a buttload of roids for 6'4 265 to not be fat

Lebron's not that strong, yo. He plays basketball not football. You can be strong at 6'4 and 265 pounds without being super fit, like I just said muscle is denser than fat it takes a lot of working out to make muscles noticeable, but you can get heavier from the weight of muscles without the muscles being noticeable if you work out the right parts of your body.
User avatar #356 to #327 - admin (12/31/2015) [-]

I was a wreatler, football player, and boxer for 8 years (8years - 16years old) until i got nerve damage from wrestling. Even then i was still overweight.
I gained weight almost instantly after that, going from 200lbs to 280 over 3 years (arm was paralyed for 7 months and i had to do 6 months physically therapy)

Id post a pic but it's gross, i have a big figure so i know ill never be calvin klien model, but i have bit tits and muffin top.
I don't look like a strong man, more like im just fat.
I can do 5 sets of 10 with 50lb dumblls, bench 200 lbs and squat 295 (not impressive, but still) i can't run if my life depended on.

Yea.
My mom's cousin lost 270 lbs over the past two years (he was 470lbs) so im trying to keep hope.

Garcina camognia has helped me in the past, because i have to force myself to stop eating (which is why i started counting calories ) because i never feel full.

Ive heard good things about the paleo diet so I'm going to do that as well for all of 2016.
If i make any results ill post them i gUess.
User avatar #393 to #390 - brobathehutt (01/01/2016) [-]
Jump rope is good, 3 miles is good, you don't need to do more rather I'd add in steps and sprinting exercises they should help build stamina.
#105 to #58 - anon (12/31/2015) [-]
5'2" 140lbs. 5'10" 180lbs.
In the US. Military weight/hight ratio has a smaller weight factor the taller you are. But caps out at a logical 6'2 @ 200lbs then fat/muscle ratio will come into effect for testing. If you are at 200lbs and between 5'5" and 5'10" then the fat/muscle ratio will also be used to test if you are carrying more muscle then fat.

It can often be caused by the likes of depression, but the issue is that it keeps spiraling downwards because "I eat because I'm unhappy, and I'm unhappy because I eat". It's obviously a very dangerous spiral that needs to be climbed upwards on again, and the fact that you're actually trying is a good thing. Hope it works out for you eventually.

I think he properly adressed that in his vitriol. You are obviously not the problem. The vocal minority that is attempting to bring the silent majority into their way of thinking is in the wrong. Also, good job on trying to do something about it, something he also said in the video.

Being fat in general is a bad sign, even if you're doing something about it, you still ******* got there by being a lard ass at heart. >Poor people are poor until they're not >Ignorant people are ignorant till they're not > FAT people are FAT, simply, until THEY'RE NOT and you will continue to be looked down upon until that has changed, simply because it doesn't matter entirely if you're "doing something about it" until you've "done" something about it and made an effective change, you're still displaying the result of unhealthy and generally undesirable life choices. Most things shouldn't be taken completely black and white, and the first two (>'s) and hell, even all 3 to an extent you can be born with. (some more than others), but, everyones dealt a certain hand in life, and its how you play your cars that matter. To quote a transhumanist that was serving life in sing sing prison for some human rights type **** , when asked about the meaning of life "I do not know to what GREAT end destiny leads us, nor do I care very much. Long before that end I shall have played my part, spoken my lines and passed on. It is HOW I play that part that concerns me. In the knowledge that I am an inalienable part of this great, UPWARD, movement called life, and that nothing, not pestilence, nor PHYSICAL AFFLICTION, nor depression, nor prison! can take that away from me, lies my inspiration, my consolation, and my treasure." Being FAT IS A BAD THING, accepted morally by most and physiologically proven. THIS VIDEO, is stating disregard for those who (1. Wish to do nothing about it and, simply cry about cards dealt to them by life or thesmselves instead of doing something about it 2. Try and convince others its OKAY to take no responsibility for your body and encourage others to harm themselves. You wanna be fat and cause problems for yourself? Go the **** ahead, the moment you start encouraging others to accept it and harm themselves is when the ******* line needs to be drawn and people need to be given a nice healthy cunt punt.
User avatar #85 to #49 - reaperriley ONLINE (12/31/2015) [-]
Your just going to ignore the parents that completely screwed over their kids by shoving ****** food in their faces so that by the time they realize their mistake, its too late and they are pretty ****** fat.

I remember being friends when I was younger with a really fat family and they would get McDonalds several times a week (eating a lot each time) and they would do **** like take non-breaded chicken breasts, **** I normal put some because seasoning on, and use BAGS of potato chips to bread them, and they would eat several between them.

Thinking back, I didnt think much of it, just that it was weird. Now I think about how much their parents ****** them. I mean, their kids were little round balls of fat at like 12 years old.

Not allowed to lift more than 35 pounds at the moment though.

It's a small start. I'm still working on it though.

Thanks for the encouragement.

I know how it is bro. My knees are straight ****** , and I can't afford the time off to actually get them looked at. Probably not good for me.

I got a bike and just started slow. Now I bike 5.8 miles (at least) round trip to work, and on my days off I'll bike at least double that. I've honestly gotten addicted to riding my bike with my music blasting.
User avatar #208 to #205 - Tusura (12/31/2015) [-]
Wish I had a bike again. I used to bike all the time when I was younger.

Small steps though.
#211 to #208 - tomthehippie (12/31/2015) [-]
Yeah, I ended up in this little town where you don't really need a car. Bikes are a lot more affordable and I didn't have to save up for a good one.

Well, good luck /fit/bro.

what...what was he trying to prove? He just sounds really angry at fat sjws.
I don't know if this is a news flash or not but most overweight people know that they are overweight. You really don't have to tell them. I used to be almost 300 hundred pounds until I got bored and decided to eat healthy. Now I'm sitting comfortable at 210. I'm alright with my lifestyle at this point.

The only thing I agree with him on is the part about childhood obeisity. It's never ok for a parent to just sit and watch that **** happen. Happened to me, I just wish I could have grown up normal and not hated myself. So **** any parent that can't keep their kid out of the cookie jar.

Oh man, and I wanted green thumbs today.

I think the most tragically ironic part about the world being oversaturated with social justice madness is the backlash of people like this guy that we're willing to accept as mentally healthy. It's not so different from the Trump method: show up abrasive or willing to offend, maybe say "I understand" once halfway through, and you've played your particular crowd like a fiddle. Now you're the iron-fisted voice of reason.

For what it's worth he's half right, but If you have to be this nuts to motivate yourself, you might be just as spineless on the inside. The only way you could convince me that this isn't about his own feelings and self validation is if he were speaking directly to or about someone like this with a little more detail. This is just screaming thoughts about the state of the world into the void, and it's pretty intense for something so impersonal. Because of this, the whole " **** your feelings" thing is lost on me. Guy's feels are bleeding out everywhere: "Lions" don't necessarily whine about an overabundance of sheep.

I don't know if it's fair to throw this guy's attitude in the bucket with "fitness culture," but it's people like this that make me ashamed to have on the same side. My first thought was roid rage, and to be fair, that'd be a better excuse for his behavior. Like, I joke all the time about somebody just kicking the door down and taking care of business, but then I see people like this being applauded and realize how detached from cause/effect a lot of you really are.

Uh, what else? "Only a sith deals in absolutes."
There you go.
User avatar #192 to #146 - sciencexplain (12/31/2015) [-]
I'm fairly certain he doesn't use steroids or any illegal supplements for his physique. He's got quite a nice natural fitness look to him that I imagine he gets through basic bulk and cut.
User avatar #223 to #192 - wanderinglashen (12/31/2015) [-]
I said it'd be a better excuse; not that it was.
User avatar #224 to #223 - sciencexplain (12/31/2015) [-]
And I was just assuring you that it's unlikely, I did not accuse you of stating it as fact.
User avatar #225 to #224 - wanderinglashen (12/31/2015) [-]
I'm confused. Why would I have needed to be assured if you weren't under that impression?
User avatar #229 to #225 - sciencexplain (12/31/2015) [-]
Because I thought that you wanted assurance, based on the fact that you used words like "thought" in reference to the idea of steroid related behaviour. Your language made it apparent that you didn't know enough of him personally to form it as a statement, so I made the leap to assume that you would have liked to be assured of an answer, and then see how it changed your view on it. I can tell that, regardless, you're not going to change your opinion, and whilst I do like the guy and what he says, you're laying out the hard truths. Anything that's remotely anti-feminist SJW on this site gets bandwagoned though, but I'm surprised you got a few green thumbs for this.
User avatar #240 to #229 - wanderinglashen (12/31/2015) [-]
No, the thing I said about roid rage was just trying to drive the point home about how extreme his attitude was. Though to what you said earlier, you don't see enough of this guy's body to feel strongly one way or the other about HGH-related usage (lower abdomen would have helped a little). It doesn't really make much of a difference as far as what he's saying is concerned though, so I mean, whatever.
User avatar #242 to #240 - sciencexplain (12/31/2015) [-]
Well, you CAN see more of his body. He's got social media pages under "John Burk" and he's pretty well toned. As the generous soul I am, have this photo to decide for yourself. I personally don't think he uses anything except for the obvious supplements like creatine, but I won't force it onto you because I can't guarantee it, only say it based on his appearance and comments.
User avatar #248 to #242 - wanderinglashen (12/31/2015) [-]
Yeah, reason I said lower abdomen was because of creatine. Guess he's just a home-grown asshole, which brings me back to the first post.

Really fit people who don't thrive on attitude, just for health do exist. He just doesn't happen to be one of them.
User avatar #275 to #248 - sciencexplain (12/31/2015) [-]
I know they do. I'm familiar with all sorts of health types. I, myself, am overweight, and I feel truly ashamed of it. I've been alone for most of my life, and often I chalk it up to my health. Thankfully, I've made some good friends who are the fit types, and they said they'd bring me along to the gym if I wanted to or not. They know it's what I want, and I think the healthy lifestyle is something that everyone who tries it will grow to love it. John Burk is more of a "look at me, I'm jacked and I get all the bitches" kind of personality from what I see on his page, but I guess when you're ripped and masculine, you've got the attitude to match it. I've found myself agreeing with you more now than I did before, but this guy really just makes **** to preach to the choir. His social media fans are also gonna have the same interests as him, and when people don't want to acknowledge the truth, they reject it and put their own beliefs and opinions there instead. On reflection, those videos of his aren't as great or as useful as he might believe.

When you have so much to say that you want to say it all at once, that happens. You'll find people talk really quickly when they've prepared what they want to say and have lots of knowledge to share, and this guy's the real deal when it comes to fitness. He doesn't promote rubbish, he gives the most crucial and basic advice.
User avatar #193 to #187 - lathyrusvii (12/31/2015) [-]
