Youtube scales how much they're willing to pay you based on how long someone will sit down and watch you. Makes sense, right? So anon is salty that video game streamers make more than animators when streamers are particularly suited to that sort of thing due to their episodic nature and that each video leads on to the next So people get stuck in a "one more video" loop whereas animators often spend days, weeks or months on one short episode.
Hm, makes sense now. I suppose it really does suck for animators but it's not like YouTube will suddenly start differentiating between what kind of videos you're uploading and pay you more or less based off of that.
Thanks for the clarification.
Basically, the way youtube has moved to a system of quantity rather than quality. If you watch 10 hours of X and 10 minutes of Y, Y would need to get 60x as many views to be considered as successful as X, and as such would need 60x as many views to get the same "top" spots as Y.
Animation is something that takes time to create. Things like Game Grumps takes about 1.5x as much as the run time, assuming there's a lot of editing, to create. 10 minute video might have 5 minutes of editing by the creator...or maybe no editing at all. Creating 100 hours of video game commentary takes as little as 100 hours and as much as maybe 250 hours max. Creating 100 hours of Animation could take an entire studio a decade to make. Average animated show is ~17-20 minutes/week, thats 5-7 years of work.
Game grumps entire runtime in 2 years is more than 100 hours.
Animators got ****** by the way youtube promotes people.
They changed how youtubers make cash. Something about the average percentage of a video watched and **** . I could link you to a video that explains it better, but the best that I remember is that the change was more suited for people that upload consistent amounts of video game content. Where as animators spend a hell of a lot time making an animation and don't upload as often and will make less due to their whole video not being as long and watched and blah blah blah or something.
**Anetheril used "*roll picture*"** **Anetheril rolled image** People in hollywood don't need to make cash either. They need to get real jobs! ******* leeches the lot of them
Because everyone knows that Men hate Cleavage and that doesnt attract more views.
Dont be a hypocrite mate. I dont need to be an autist muslim to see that they do that to earn more views.
And i have seen women wearing transparent leggings with the opposite color as a thong, you know, for a casual walk. Doesnt have anything to do with their asses, honestly.
I didnt call her a slut.I called her a Gender opportunist. Just because they know that once they show as much as they can, more donates and basement rejects will follow them, they simply do it just for that.
What has been banned from twitch exactly?Leggings?
then report her, but the anon up above. streaming is about getting views to make money. sometimes a cute face is all you need. not all women on twitch are massive sluts, though
Yes I've watched the video and I agree that it is bad and she should be reported. But I agree with dndexplains in other scenarios that just because a girl is attractive and streams on twitch doesn't mean she is the scum of the Earth.
Reminds me of the time that a streamer had full frontal nudity of him and his wife. At least I think that's what happened. A lot of crazy **** goes on in twitch. Like that guy that pretended to be paralyzed.
Most streamers just start out doing it for fun, they get their fans by playing well and having good personality. A high view count is not the point of twitch unless you're making your living off of it--FUN is the point of twitch.
Getting attention because of your skill and dedication to a task you enjoy is different from seeking attention purely for the sake of attention.
its also possible that she understands its just a game. Hell I get up and AFK playing wow all the time while I'm tanking. Sometimes during boss fights just to see how the group handles it.
I mean I don't go far from my computer, I stay there in case the group gets into some trouble and can usually get things back under control. I think the bigger assholes are all the people on here thinking that since she's a girl, obviously she's just a no-good attention whore.
Go watch her streams. Go watch her streams, come back, add me on skype, look me in the eyes on your screen then say "She is not an attention whore". Do it.
People aren't really saying because she's a girl she's an attention whore, people are saying that because most girls that suck more dick than a gay porn star at games and go on twitch, wear little clothing and/or ask for money and are pretty much a video game cam whore. I feel like you are new to the twitch thing. It's seriously the new cam girl site, it's boobs and games.
You're still an ass for leaving mid fight just to see how good your group is. If you need a break just say brb and normally people wait. If they move on then that means they can handle in on their own
lol and wow are two different games. You dont farm gold to get items later on in wow. You just walk into a dungeon with a gear and walk out as you walked in. In lol you buy items constantly. She went afk, died, gave gold to enemy as well as and advantage in game. She's not a tank, that healers will heal up and all you do is keep aggro on yourself. A lot of girls on stream just attention whore for views and 10 y o kids join in and spam chat with "tits or gtfo" Look how much screen she fills with her tits cam. None selfrespecting streamer would do normally do that. You said yourself that it's hard to die in dungeon. In lol you can die in uder a second.
Ehhhhhh it depends. I haven't played WoW for a few months but at the start of WoD you could hardly get through 1 instance without at least 2 people dying.
Gearscore and Item lvel is a way to fix bad players. Rotations timing, and when to use spells is key.
Any raid or Instance. I could sit there and just autohit it while tanking.casting certain mitigation and heal casts being a monk.
Item level does not fix bad players for many reasons....by many I mean I can only think of 3. I have picked up items with ******* stats than the gear I'm wearing, but the item level is higher. You can simply buy gear with high enough item levels to do all raids and instances. Is costs a **** load, but anyone can buy it. It doesn't matter how much of a **** player you are, if you can complete quests or do PVP you can get gear with pretty high item levels then take your pvp gear and do a raid. I should know because I did that to get to core hound mount
Well, yes and no, to even be doing raids you need the instances item sets to considered qualified, at least it used to be that way in vanilla everything is so watered down now. then after you have that gear, you farm your 10m raid then 25m raid for gear.
Guess what I'm trying to say is, Yes you can't fix stupid people but you can damn sure give them a handicap. And for those with actual skill and calculation giving them the same handicap just makes it more beneficial for the group at hand. And if you can't read stats right and just pick up and use an item because it has higher gearscore then you're doing it wrong.
Really any "It's just a _" statement, like "It's just a job" or whatever other crap you try to justify your laziness and lack of motivation, passion, and dedication to, your absence of pride, your detached, aloof, superior attitude that makes you suck at everything because you think you are too good to try.
Some people actually care about things in life. Sorry if that ******* bothers you.
Work hard. Play hard.
That doesn't bother me at all. But no, i don't take the "its just a..." mentality to justify anything, I just fall into a category of folks that aren't uber dedicated to WoW. That's what guilds are for, find players that enjoy the game in a similar manner as yourself. WoW is just a game to me so Music can be my world. For some folks, music is just a hobby. We're all different.
Toying with something as a casual interest you dabble in just to kill time is fine.
Telling people who are more interested in something than you are that there is something wrong with them is not fine.
I don't make a habit of that. If I came across that way, I didn't mean to. When I encounter hardcore players, I generally feel like a weak link and I'll let them know that I'm inexperienced with endgame stuff. I do whatever the **** the raid leaders tells me to do at that point. I don't want to ruin anyone's game.
Okay, the way you said that kinda made it seem like you were one of those people who goes into a game and intentionally ********* up and then laughs at the people who get mad and tell them they need to get a life because liking things is stupid.
Relax dude, sometimes people just wanna chill and play video games. It's good to care about things but for some people video games is just a fun hobby to pass the time, not a passion they strive to be better at.
Fair enough, I was just saying that to some people it is just a game, and your comment seemed to be saying that anyone who thinks that must be an asshole that thinks they're too good to try.
Also before anyone tries to bring it up, I'm gonna go ahead and get out in front of the argument about people getting too upset when they lose.
Telling them to stop caring simply isn't helpful. What is helpful is to make sure that they understand that in order for there to be a winner, inherently there must also be at least one loser. It's mathematically impossible to win 100% of the time if every game has less than a 50% win ratio averaged across all players. Defeat is a good teacher. We learn from our mistakes and become better through adversity. Losing shows you your flaws, it points out your weaknesses and forces you to strengthen them.
Giving up hope and coasting through life without ever devoting yourself to anything does not make you a better person. In fact, I'd say you barely qualify as a person at that point.
You are completely correct there. I'm not the best WoWer and never will be. I do it because I like games, but don't want to spend too much time/money on a ton of them because music is my everything. WoW is my only game, but I put an average of 3 hours/week into it.
You realize that's still rude as **** , right? It's not a matter of "it's just a game", these people made a commitment to sit down and do an activity with you for a length of time and you just left. Imagine just getting up and leaving in the middle of a poker game and everyone has to wait for you to get back. Same deal.
twitch girls are cancer, even after the restrictions of tits-showing, they still manage to milk money out of neckbeards while not playing games at all, or showing little-to-no interest in the game they're playing. They're on twitch mostly because they try to justify that as "better/honorful" and lie to themselves that they're better than normal camgirls.
She kinda devalues the act of streaming.
You can be a comedic genius, you can have plenty of production value, but not much else can top a twitch whore with cleavage in nabbing viewers, and by extension, potential donations. It sucks, man.
this is a good point. if idiots want to throw their money at tits then let them. if you want a female streamer who cares about the game then go find one.
nope, i dont watch female streams.
hear me out though, it doesnt take a genius to figure out that if people enjoy certain things those things become more popular. you cant change human nature anymore than a fat sjw can change what body types we are attracted to, just gotta pick and play to a demographic.
if boobs trump high quality comedy in the majority of the crowd, then so be it. preaching "but it devalues things!" isnt going to change much.
like i said, find someone catering to your demographic. keep looking, youre gonna find a female streamer who cares more about the game than boners eventually.
The problem isn't that she cares about the boners, She doesn't. The problem I'm having is that being a chick that can get guys to pop boners quickly is the fastest way to get stream money. Hell, if dressing up as a clown was what brought in the stream money, she'd look like a goddamn professional.
Also, that "keep looking" scheisse is really unhelpful.
well thats what i meant, stream whores rely on boners to get donations, so dont watch them if thats not your thing. beyond that theres not much else you can do besides help popularize female streamers you consider to be worth more attention and hope they lift off.
the root of this whole problem is inherently subjective, so the "right" and "wrong" ways to stream is entirely up to the individual.
also sorry if "keep looking" isnt helpful, but the few streams i watch all happen to be male, i really dont know of any female streamers you would personally be interested in.
No the root of the problem is that people are cluttering **** up and not respecting organization. Twitch is a site for games. Livejasmine is a site for camwhores.
Putting camwhores on twitch is like putting piles of candy bars in the middle of the produce section. Yeah, sure they will fly off the shelves, but you will see an equal decrease in produce sales. There's already a place for them elsewhere and that's where they belong, this space exists for a different purpose and if you aren't there for that purpose, then you do not belong.
well, despite being camwhores, technically they are still playing videogames. whether gaming is their primary interest or not is irrelevant to twitch itself, so long as they keep the overall subject around gaming.
And if someone is on the highway traveling at 75% of the speed limit in the fast lane, they are still technically driving and moving forward which is the overall subject of the highway, but that doesn't mean that they aren't still severely inconveniencing everyone else around them.
so long as youre going within the speed limit you cant get arrested.
what else can i say, their methods work and you dont like it, so find someone you do like and ignore the rest.
dont forget that anybody has the right to stream however they want so long as it falls within twitch's rules. people can also donate to whoever they want, it is their money to spend after all.
theres a lot of people who like tits, so naturally theres a lot of streamers who show off their tits. this aspect of human nature cannot be changed as simply as "i dont like it and neither should you".
So why do you care so much about this subject? Like, if you don't like it, why are you watching it? Just watch someone else... If they get no followers, they wouldn't be so popular. It's just Jersey Shore on twitch, ignore it and move on to cool shows like Samurai Jack.
The problem is the neckbeards that donate to them. Why shouldn't the twitch girls do that? If I could get paid to play games I'm a complete casul at and flash my man-titties a bit, **** yea I would. Easy, fun money. But if the demand turned to serious/funny players, that's what we'd have.
the people who down voted you are probably off to bigger and better things. Really who gives a **** about these type of streamers or streamers in general. Dont be mad that people dont like what you like. If your a viewer watch what you want and watch what you dont. If your trying to be a streamer then focus on yourself, put the work in, build the viewership count, be creative. Don't just cry and complain about other people because it gets you no where.
People will kill over a rated match of LoL. You can get banned just for ragequitting.
Plus, she could've just taken the 1 second it takes to right click on the map to send her back to base, or just start teleporting. Nah, she just ******* gets up and leaves and allows the enemy team to reap the rewards for killing her.
Disclaimer: I ******* hate LoL with a passion. I hate the community and I hate the game. I played it for a small time but it was just utter elitist **** . Still, it was 1 ******* button she could've pushed, and instead fed the enemy team free points, and a huge push.
It's still just a game. If the team's toxic as **** they deserve to lose.
I'm not saying I just get up and leave when I don't like my team, but I sure as hell ain't gonna put effort into it. Then again, I don't play ranked. Way too serious ********* there.
It's rude to just get up and walk away from a group activity, regardless of what it is. Imagine sitting around playing poker with your mates and one of them just gets up and leaves without saying anything and you all have to wait for him to come back. It ruins the fun and makes that guy a dick.
Now listen here, if it's something important you can't blame someone for leaving. Also, a rule of thumb should be not to play a game unless you've got at least one hour left when the game starts.
Still, it's just a damn video game. Sure, you can compare it to poker with mates, but poker doesn't require five players. If there's five of you and one leaves, tough **** , still four people left. It's a little different.
Sure, of course there are special circumstances. I'd generally expect a mate to go " **** I gotta take this" or something if they left during something important, but I wouldn't hold it against them.
And I actually thought of monopoly after I posted that comment, it's a better example. You and three friends are playing monopoly, one gets up and leaves. Okay, you can still play for a little bit, the game is worse because you can't trade with them or anything but whatever. Then it's his turn and you have to wait for him. It's just a game, but that is rude and frustrating, and if your reason for it is "there was a moderately loud meme so I went for a walk", you can't expect people to not be angry about that.
