"ok ready 16 bars?"
"you're gonna have to cut me off... I did a lot of cocaine before I came to your show...oh **** , was I not allowed to say that? **** it I did... i'm wearing a white suit do I look like a man who cares?"
in all honesty though man, I rap myself and I can see why a lot of people don't like hip-hop.....the **** that's promoted tends to be more ignorant than insightful.
**nemesisapoc used "*roll picture*"** **nemesisapoc rolled image**Hip-Hop isn't what it used to be. I'm mainly a metalhead, but I can appreciate the ideas portrayed in older rap music. Anti-establishment, injustice, family and relationship issues. A lot of the same things are talked about in heavy metal.
see what you think of this.. you might like this dude. I'm 26 but back in like..middle school or so.. man death and black is all I listened to lol.
He became my favorite rapper in the way that a vice president becomes president after the president dies. Michael "Eyedea" Larsen was and always will be the rapper who resonates deepest with me, but, this guy was one of his best friends so they have similar styles, messages, and views. reyep mikey we miss you.
**nemesisapoc used "*roll picture*"** **nemesisapoc rolled image**I kinda like that too. I'm listening to Sadistik right now and really enjoy it. I see what you mean by depressed white guys being the best rappers right now lol.
what's ironic is another one of my current favorites is the complete opposite...he's a dude who focuses more on comedic value. Sometimes I need that **** that isn't quite so depressing and deep/dark, I want **** that'll make me laugh or feel good or w/e....but, too much comedy rap is just comedy w/o much real skill (ie: lonley island...they're funny, but, that's the only good thing about them) so... it's refreshing to find a guy who can be funny AND make a good song.
if you want i can link you to that guy as well haha
**nemesisapoc used "*roll picture*"** **nemesisapoc rolled image**Yeah man I'd like that and I know you mean about musicians with range. The Lonely Island are really just a one-trick pony to me and comedy rap sometimes feels a bit too much like Weird Al without the talent to me.
This guy started out by posting a music video to reddit... a couple free mixtapes with music videos for almost every song later and THIS is how he starts out his debut album....
after the intro phone call with his parents lol
(2nd of the 3 albums i bought this summer. the 3rd was Kendrick's.)
Honestly, i think eyedea and sadistik surpass em lyrically. but, em was kind of like pac it wasn't so much about the lyricism in a literary sense it was about the feeling the songs gave... they played out like movies.
that's what bugs me about new-era em is it seems like all he does anymore is see how many syllables he can cram in the line
