The problem with america's health care system is that the company's that make the medicine have no competition and therefore can make their prices as high as they want.

Right wingers need accept that there's a problem. The US government has fixed similar problems in the past.
But left wingers need to realize that socializing the whole thing would be goddamn disaster. Yes I know it works in Europe. European country's are small and have always been controlled by central powers. The US would have to remake the whole system in order for fill social health care to work.

Are you trying to make Americans look like ignorant ******** ? This post is criticizing The absurd costs of the medical care in America, not unemployment rates or siestas.

Both of these countries have problems, but it's pretty obvious your country can learn something from spain and many other countries if we're talking about the prices of medical care.

You're not the greatest, nor the worst, so take some critcism and learn from it, rather than spewing hate about another country...

And when you get insurance, the price drops dramatically.

This ****** is using the subsidized price in Spain, but not the private or governmental insured prices in the US.

Besides that, the US has by far better quality medical care.

But you know, "America is teh worst ****** nd evrthng der sux"

The medical system charges that much because the insurance companies always try to barter down the price and the hospitals try to make up for other people who don't pay.

Thats actually one of the main reasons I'm so against Obamacare. The way to fix our healthcare system shouldn't involve the government throwing money at them for us. They need to pass laws a regulations that prevent such horrible inflation.

How bad is this inflation you ask?
The average cost of manufacturing an IV bag is 0.14$
The average cost you pay for an IV bag at the hospital is over $400

Its should not be okay for the government to forcibly take my money to pay these ludicrous prices.

And then he could die on the operating table. Twice. Cheap ain't always better.

But to be fair, the main reason medicine in America is so expensive is because it has mountains of redundant government regulation and bureaucracies climbing up its rear end...

You need to stop watching fox now.
First, this is EU, not India. EU has surgeons that are just as good as american average ones. And most people can't afford american top surgeons anyhow.
And second EU has three times the regulation, quarter of the costs, and far higher average quality then USA. out of top ten health systems 8 are european. Spain being #7. USA is 33.

There's also a LOT more people in the U.S. which means way more who will need surgery and that pushes demand up. You can't expect things to work in exactly the same way in a country with 300 million people as a country with 47 million people.

Or you could fly to Canada, watch a hockey game (or 2), go visit the CN tower, visit parliament hill, ski down the slopes in Vancouver, fish in PEI, and then go see the northern lights, then get the hip fixed.

All less than it costs to go to Spain.

ITT: Sheeple who fall for pro-obama propaganda. Whenever a foreign celebrity gets sick, they don't go to germany or france or england for medical services. They go to the u.S. because our medical services are without a doubt the best in the world. It literally comes with a high price though. So which one do you want: a crappy, cheap system like the one found in the U.K. or a high-quality one like that found in houston, the world capital of health services?
