When you have certain beliefs that can affect certain laws (i.e so many people are against gay marriage, because of their certain religious belief) they don't really mind their own business.
Obviously I'm not saying this applies to all religious people.

Why do people always connect opposing gay marriage to religion?
Most of the people from soviet union were atheists, yet all of them hated gays

You obviously missed what I said "Obviously I'm not saying this applies to all religious people."
Of course people who aren't religious at all disagree and oppose gay marriage too. But Religion has the stronger hand, especially in America, where it influences laws.

Because the only historic group to say gay is wrong were religious people.
Everyone thought it was okay.

Who the **** told you that?
Even the ancient Athens had a law that if someone was gay they'd kick him out of the town.
And Athenians are perceived to be the most homo people in the ancient world.
No one ever liked homosexuals.
until now, of course.

Dude ancient Greece had no problems with gays.
They thought it was okay.
The thing is that if you were a man and being dominated by another man you were looked down upon.

When people say homosexuality in Greece was accepted, what they really mean is that there was this "master-boy" relationship, when older man taught young boys some things and also ********** them. That makes them bisexuals at max.
Which noble and high ranking generals are you talking about?
ALso, prove that they were homosexuals and not bisexuals.

But that's the teachings of their religion.
It more or less set the basis or what's right and wrong in our society.
I'm gay myself and I respect the fact that they're against gay marriage because they've been taught that way for thousands of years.

I'm Christian, I don't think it's right to actively identify as gay and all, but I don't try to stop people from it. I understand it's a hormonal thing they don't choose. But it's the same as any other sexual impurity in my opinion.
I also believe that the government should change it so a civil union has all the same benefits of marriage (tax rates, being recognized as a married couple, etc), without the religious aspects of it, then bigots can't complain about the "sanctity of marriage" being 'tainted' by gay dudes putting rings on each other and saying hubby. Then everybody's happy except the bigots. **** those guys.
Oh, and also making it so gay marriages (as well as aforementioned civil unions) are recognized on a federal level. As long as you find a pastor who's cool with it, I'm fine with it.

Ditto about your gay marriage opinion here. I personally disapprove but think that if people want to do it they should be allowed to by the government (particularly since, in the U.S., the people should have their way, as it is a democratic republic). If a person's decision to do something I disapprove of doesn't actually affect other people in a negative way, let them have it.
Jesus disapproved of a lot of things going on around Him but He wasn't a political activist. If you want to reform people, you can't force something on them; you need to change their hearts.
Anyway, there is my opinion, since I know you all wanted it.

And societies change. Religion shouldn't dictate whats right or wrong, IN today's world.
Morality can come from different aspects, not just religion (if you're going to bring the old "well religion gives us morals").
Religions have adapted and change to other things, why not this aspect?(Don't forget that religions have even changed their texts. Old testament to new testament.) Even if there's sufficient evidence showing that being gay is not a choice, and that its shown in other animals? So it shows that it's not a bad thing.
