Goddamn it Johann

In January 1894, a four years old kid fell into the
cold waters of the Inn river (Passag, Germany).
The priest Johann Rothberger saw the whole
scene and did not hesitate to dive, saving the kid.
That kid was Adolf Hitler.

This just proves time travel is real. So many attempts to save Hitler from death before the holocaust means someone traveled back in time to try to kill him or put him in a fatal situation only to be saved by some unwittingly oblivious individual.

i think if hitler were dead at that time, someone else would have started the second world war

Verry true because the real reason for ww2 was economic recovery form the great depression

umm what? idk what you're trying to say. are you saying america started the war. cause the great depression was in america...

I am saying thath World war 2 was mostly about economics and money and power like all the wars in the past 200 years

Hitler was born and raised in Austria. This never happened.

The inn river passes through both Austria and Germany, and people do visit other countries, y'know.

If Hitler had died some1 else would have taken his place, could have been the communists which wouldn't have really been any better.
Holocaus could have been avoided but ww2 would still have happened.

Yeah, because everyone else was so keen on getting another World War after the first one...

You do realize Germany was in a state of chaos during late 20ies and early 30ies?
The money was gone, huge debts and the people were rioting. If Hitler had not risen to power some other fanatic talented in speech would have. And you have to take to account the global bad tension between countries, for example Japans expansion in Asia, which caused problems with Kina, England, France and USA.
User avatar #281 to #262 - cinematicbrix (10/22/2013) [-]
Yes, well both of us are obviously Finnish, so we have both had the same education, so this is not more news to me than it was when I had about it in the 8th grade (got a 10+ for it).

However, if Hitler had not risen to power, the one who would've might not have been as methodical or sinister like Hitler. Only a few (potential) people that could've started WW2 would have wanted to erase the world of all the mentally challenged, all the jews, the homosexuals, the black, the romany, the americans, eqyptians, hungarians, Jehovah's Witnesses, bolsheviks, turks, arabs, indians, and other non-aryan minorities.

So personally, I believe who ever would have started WW2 instead of Hitler, it wouldn't have been as severe.

However, this conversation is leading nowhere, since we aren't able to change the past.
User avatar #295 to #281 - xsnowbanex (10/23/2013) [-]
I think he's saying the war would've happened regardless due to the rising fascist political group that was catching fire. Though I doubt there would've been the strict eradication of jews and other races, it was easily possible another world war would have happened.

TL;DR ww2 vievä tie asetettiin toimeen jo ww1 rauhan neuvotteluiden aikana

I dunno why the russians get a free pass, though.
They killed more people.
User avatar #253 to #252 - cinematicbrix (10/22/2013) [-]
This sort of contradicts my previous comment, but Stalin was indeed more keen on getting a war than (probably) anyone else.

Also, he didn't care for the lives of his people, nor soldiers, when as a comparison Hitler was very fond of the aryan race, the german people and his soldiers.

The rest of Europe never really calmed down with regards to Germany though.
Still watching them pretty closely, LOL.

User avatar #257 to #222 - sgrave (10/22/2013) [-]
Good question.
What would the world look like if Hitler hadn't lived.
After the defeat of the Nazis, a lot of progressive laws were passed, society became more open to certain issues, etc.
User avatar #259 to #257 - tarekmig (10/22/2013) [-]
Pretty sure hitler won't change anything since there were more than one helper for hitler, general, left hand etc etc so if hitler died they would take his place.

do you know what the word hesitate even means?
if you hesitate you react slowly to something
if you don't hesitate you act fast
meaning he acted really fast, dove in, saved hitler and he was the cause of a few million deaths later on
if you want to see it that way
staph le trellele
now
please

Nope, he didn't hesitate to dive, Thus not saving the kid. Plus it never said that he is the one who saved the kid, it never said he then dove after. Thus making both of dederpaol and you wrong.

WW2 would have happened with or without hitler. It is a logical consequence of the strict punishments from WW1
User avatar #283 to #215 - justtoobasic (10/22/2013) [-]
It's the butterfly effect. If one thing changes then everything Changes. World war 1 might have happened, but it would not have occurred the way we know it did. If we were to somehow go back and prevent that priest from saving hitler and came back everything that we know would be different.
User avatar #224 to #215 - dederplaol (10/22/2013) [-]
but it wouldn't have happened in the same way, the holocaust surely wouldn't have been so big
