I prefer pc because there aren't many strategy game on console.

and even if strategy game exist on console, playing it with controllers would be annoying enough.

I really only prefer PC over console because its easier to pirate games on PC.

Why pirate though?
Gaming has never been cheaper or more convenient.
Honestly if you have things like GOG and steam and you still pirate games you're a slimy **** IMO.

>its easier to pirate games on PC
That is why some game will come out months later than consoles, because devs know pc gamers are dikkeds
#109 to #85 - anon (09/11/2015) [-]
The irony being that pirates still have access to those games thanks to emulators.

Much like every other attempt companies have ever made to stop pirates only hits paying customers.

I'm a ******* working class college student.

I can spend 200 bucks on a used ps3 and still get the same amount of giggles from playing vidya. Or spend $1000 on a LOL-UBER-STORMHAX desktop.

I know many of you are in the same boat as me. I also know many of you have chosen to live in squalor and blow your money on expensive setups because "muh mustard rice".

**** that.
#93 to #70 - hearthofsin ONLINE (09/11/2015) [-]
i don't know man

i spend a lot of money on my pc's (desktop and laptop) but not because i play that many games. i play league and gta v only one of which can be played on console. the main reason i use money on my pc is for solidworks. engineer student soo...

but if 200 bucks is what you WANT to spend then i can understand where you are coming from you probably priotise social life and partying higher than i do? i really don't know all i can tell is oyur money is going somewhere else than gaming
User avatar #99 to #70 - burtman (09/11/2015) [-]
I was 16 when I first built my £800 gaming pc. I just saved up a **** ton of money. You dont have to go all out on spending.
#75 to #70 - anon (09/11/2015) [-]
They pretend it's like money saving or something but it's really not.
You do really gotta blow your wad if you want the best.
Then you get the assholes who act better just because they do have the spare money to spend.
Get whatever man, the only thing that annoys me is exclusivity, it doesn't help anyone in the long run.
And I suppose it's one of the only ways to get people to buy your console instead these days, people buy based on exclusives.

When the second PC came along and was red, I thought for sure it would become an AMD vs Intel fanboy fight.
User avatar #102 to #35 - defski ONLINE (09/11/2015) [-]
Could also be Nvidia vs AMD.
#108 to #102 - muffinssnuffims (09/11/2015) [-]
Yeah but the first one was blue and white. Usually Nvidia vs AMD is green vs red, and Intel vs AMD is blue vs red.
#43 - canadianbetamale (09/11/2015) [-]
I prefer console to PC because I feel more secure purchasing a pre-made, reliable console rather than building (and possibly ******* up) my own PC for $1000+. Nothing against PC gamers, I just don't have the time, patience, space or money for a high-end PC.
User avatar #82 to #43 - confusedasian (09/11/2015) [-]
I prefer consoles as well, but building a pc isn't that difficult. It basically is just legos with a few rules like the obvious "don't bend this.".
User avatar #45 to #43 - totallytito (09/11/2015) [-]
Often times a regular modern office PC can play most games just fine.
You just need to lower the resolution and turn down some effects.
It's pretty much what most consoles already do, anyway. The benefit is the mouse aiming.
User avatar #13 - shanethedragon (09/11/2015) [-]
i prefer consoles because i don't want have to learn how to build a computer and i don't want a system that will be obsolete in 3 months
User avatar #24 to #13 - angelious (09/11/2015) [-]
just..hire someone else to do it..

i dont know **** about pcs...or anything technology related.

i just went to a computer shop and asked how much would it cost for them to build me top of the line gaming computer. and then they did it,i paid them and i dont regret a single thing about it.-
User avatar #103 to #13 - lapsushominum ONLINE (09/11/2015) [-]
What do you mean by obsolete? If you mean new stuff is continually released then yeah ok, but I built a med-low budget computer like 3 years ago and it can still play all the new stuff on max just fine. You don't need to have the newest hardware to play games...
User avatar #31 to #13 - charizarddad (09/11/2015) [-]
i hope this is a joke
#19 to #13 - boothead (09/11/2015) [-]
Litterally it's Lego. Build it slowly over time, Start with a Case, Motherboard, PowerSupply and CPU. Don't cheap out of these essentials, cheap out of RAM at first and upgrade as you get spare money. I built mine 6 years ago and all I needed to do was slap a new graphics card in it.
User avatar #23 to #13 - barakakaka ONLINE (09/11/2015) [-]
Been using the same PC for 7 years being able to run newer games (2007 to 2014). Never had issues with it. Now i have a new PC after 7 years and will buy the next one maybe in a decade. Kinda outdated yes, but obsolete never.
User avatar #26 to #13 - Ripsometime ONLINE (09/11/2015) [-]
So you want a system that will be obsolete 3 months ago?
User avatar #68 to #13 - dreygur (09/11/2015) [-]
If your PC is obsolete within a few months, you're either doing something horribly wrong or you have an uncontrollable urge to get the currently very best setup. A PC from a few years ago can still play most games from today.
#33 to #13 - thecrayzeeman (09/11/2015) [-]
If you ever plugged anything into a socket you know how to build a PC.

Plus there are manuals for all the extra stuff you usually don't need.

Also, obsolete in 3 months? Compared to consoles which were obsolete from day 1? Not to mention, contrary to what you peasants believe, you don't actually need to upgrade you PC every time something better comes. My last PC lasted me over 8 years. The only reason I bought a new one is that the old one was starting to have serious problems.

As much as I would like a console for some of the pretty sweet exclusives, PC's are just flat out better and cost efficient. If my PC dies I just replace the part that causes the problem. If a console dies, you have to buy a new one.

poor optimization on the part of development teams are not the fault of the computer these games are being played on

Also if your computer has a **** graphics card/no RAM then youre kinda screwed. Beyond that, pcs perform well above consoles.

Welp, could be a specs issue. I dont k ow anything about your computer, but generally if the optimization/porting is done properly and the machine is cooled the only difference between a pc and a console is a pc can do things other than game (and can also be modified to perform much better than consoles).

one of my several complaints about "le ebin PC masterrace" is because they **** up any gameing community
i remember how fun it and pleasant was to Discuss stuff related to Dark Souls like lore and builds
them the game went to pc and everything you see is "Queelag is may waifu", "Praise the Sun lol", "Artificial Difficulty".
it also happened with GTA V and now it'll happen to Dragon's Dogma
#76 to #51 - ugoboom ONLINE (09/11/2015) [-]
The problem is not that "the game went to PC", it's that "the game went to Reddit."
User avatar #78 to #51 - megathen (09/11/2015) [-]
If you really think certain games should be console-exclusive just because you can't handle a bit of cancerous comments, you're just not a nice person.

And oh man Dragon's Dogma coming to PC?? I really really want to play that game but don't want to go out and waste money on a console.

never said something should be console exclusive
i'm just saying that when something that was only console goes to PC it's community becomes ****
hell i played Dark Souls more on PC than on my console because of the DSFix
it's like living on an nice neighborhood and suddenly a bunch of ******* moves to it and the place becomes worse than Detroit
User avatar #81 to #79 - lycoris ONLINE (09/11/2015) [-]
That's what happens when something gets more popular, it isn't just the PC gamers.
User avatar #80 to #79 - megathen (09/11/2015) [-]
I think that's more because it got popular and not just because it went to PC. When something is super popular, there's more degenerates in the community to make degenerate stuff.
User avatar #37 - morphodite (09/11/2015) [-]
