Wooow. you don't count hip-hop as music. tell all about how you know everything music, and can discredit an entire, diverse culture and genre as "not music"

I am not saying that hip-hop is not a musical genre (though one can argue about musical value of a dude talking into beat, for he neither sings, nor plays anything).

I am saying that hip hop has no artistic value whatsoever. Playing an instrument? Art. Singing? Art. Cockfights in beat? Not art.

Geddit?
#83 to #81 - thebrrw (10/19/2015) [-]
Let me make a few guesses here. let me know if i'm wrong about anything. You're white, you have no black friends or associates whatsoever but because of some deluded superiority you feel over black people, you feel the need to put down their music.

Check out any list of "Greatest Albums of All Time" and see how many of them are hip hop albums, not to mention commercially hip hop is smashing most other genres.

TLDR Hip hop is great, you're probably a racist. Live long and go **** yourself.
#84 to #83 - nightmarexnxnxnxnx (10/19/2015) [-]
Yes I am white, no, I have associates of different races that I am, and I have no deluded sense of superiority over them. Heck one of my most favourite characters from video gaming, Sazh Katzroy, is a black guy.

The problem is that Hip-Hop as whole, attracts the most talent-less of scum, people who are only relevant because they either: have egos so big they automatically attract audience, since everyone seems to dream of being an uncaring asshole nowadays, or they are criminals.

I had no issue with hip hop when it was targeted for those kind of people themselves, as it was actually relevant in that niche. That changed when it went mainstream, and now every teenager around thinks that they are these tough ¨ *********** ¨ who are getting bitches and have their life sorted out, when they is in reality, they are still losers, usually living with their parents, and spend their days smoking weed and indulging in pointless violence and hateful behavior with their deadbeat friends.

I do not know why does or society have to herald talent-less criminals and assholes as
artists and pillars of our culture. The ¨music¨ they make is pretty much mostly about bad-ass they think are, bawwing about their childhood, and general disdain for authorities.

>Check out any list of "Greatest Albums of All Time" and see how many of them are hip hop albums, not to mention commercially hip hop is smashing most other genres.

Which just goes to show just how awfully low self esteem do people these days have when they feel the need to artificially increase it in through listening to this crap.

>TLDR Hip hop is great, you're probably a racist. Live long and go **** yourself.

Hell no, no, and up yours buddy.
#85 to #84 - rossthomson (10/19/2015) [-]
You're overlooking the fact that kanye west is a powerful songwriter and composer, he's pretty much the sole reason behind the shift from aggressive rap losing mainstream popularity to pave more to smooth flowing beats. You should probably do more research into a particular subject before bashing kanye and making him out to be some kind of talentless ape that's being puppeteered into the great stage.
#87 to #85 - nightmarexnxnxnxnx (10/19/2015) [-]
He is still producing in industry devoid of any musical and artistic value, on top of being self centered, egoistic prick.

Besides, pretty much all hip-hoppers are talent-less apes were puppeteered into the great stage, mostly (and ironically) by us insecure whites, who were unable to cope with our poor self esteem and lack of validation towards our existence.

Mainstream popularity of hip-hop is the product of extremely poor relationships we humans have grown to have as we grow more and more self centered each day.

Simply put, we treat each other like crap, which in turn spawns increased amount of social outcasts who, despite their attitude towards the world, still want to belong somewhere, so they feel validated. Those outcasts start to listen to hip hop, not only to raise their self esteem, but also to gain inspiration on how they can exploit weaknesses and fears of other people, who are usually completely unrelated, just so they can take the revenge for wrongs that others have inflicted towards them, and feel better about themselves.

That is the basis of hip hop. People simply want to feel better, and stronger, so they take up criminals and assholes, and instead of despising them, they start to idolize them. Because when you cant fight them, join them.
User avatar #88 to #87 - rossthomson (10/19/2015) [-]
I just can't wrap my head around you typing up that wall of tinfoil-hat mumbo jumbo, then sitting back and thinking "eh, that's a totally logical and rational reply"
#90 to #88 - nightmarexnxnxnxnx (10/19/2015) [-]
Sorry, did I use too many difficult words for your brain to handle? Or perhaps you are unable to understand an analysis of our society?

Let me elaborate.

The weak of our society use hip-hop to assort themselves as strong, becoming uncaring and self centered along the way. That attitude itself is bad enough. The problem is, that most of those people will also lose the sight of right and wrong along the way. And since they completely lose respect towards the mere existence of other human beings, they also lose the safe guards that bind their morality in check, which in turn leads to pointless violence, crime, drug abuse and so on.

I am not talking about those who were part of that community in the first place, but about those who originally had nothing to do with it.

The point is that our society is transforming into a malicious brew of hate, self-cenderedness and despair, and the popularity hip-hop only serves to show this to us.

#92 to #87 - thebrrw (10/19/2015) [-]
But seriously if you think hip hop is synonymous with criminals and showy assholes, then you are too far gone for me to convince. You are totally ignorant of the genre, you listened to a few ****** rappers and now you think you're some expert. Hip hop is an incredibly diverse ART with many different ARTISTS with different styles and personalities , some good, some bad and the fact that you think that you can generalize so broadly says a lot about you. I'm done. Have fun hating on all the other things you don't understand too.
#93 to #92 - nightmarexnxnxnxnx (10/19/2015) [-]
Lumps of rocks also have different shapes, textures and sizes. That does not mean they are pieces of art. All hip hop I have heard, be it from other people trying to convince me of the quality of the genre, or radio, were literately the worst things I have ever heard in my life.

Besides, You did not post anything that would back up what you have just said, referring to just say that I do not understand, without actually trying show some insight on why do you think I am wrong.

#91 to #87 - thebrrw (10/19/2015) [-]
>claims to not be racist
>broadly refers to hip-hop artists as "talentless apes"

dafuq?
#94 to #91 - nightmarexnxnxnxnx (10/19/2015) [-]
That does not have to mean I am racist. I lump black rappers and white rappers together.

They are all talent-less apes to me, regardless of gender or race.
#86 to #84 - thebrrw (10/19/2015) [-]
> "talentless scum" Yeah just put down all the many classically trained, recognised, producers and musicians who choose this form of expression, just because you don't like it.

All you've explained to me is that you have a problem with the hip hop community, but you haven't given any reasonable argument to back up your original (incredibly ignorant) claim that hip hop isn't art.
#89 to #86 - nightmarexnxnxnxnx (10/19/2015) [-]
¨classically trained producers and musicians¨? EXCUSE ME? You call people who do not utilize any sort of musical expression in their genre (such as singing or instruments) musicians? Calling them poets might work, but then again, there is not even any poetic value of the words they utter in those so called (songs). But well they rhyme, so that is something, at least.

I mean **** , calling hip-hoppers musicians is an insult to musicians everywhere especially for people in orchestras for example, who spend TENS OF YEARS learning how to play their instruments to a standard of perfection, meticulously slaving away everyday to hammer out any impurities of their craft, while there are people like YOU who take bothering to throw together a bunch of crap that rhymes about bitches, cops and ¨da hood¨, with no musical context, and then reciting them in a show off of their egos with most monotonous of sounds playing in the background as artistically and musically expressive???

GET THE **** OUT OF HERE!

Hip hop might be an art, with no artistic value whatsoever. Heck drawing a ******* circle is an art by definition, for it is a product of someone else´s craft.

But that does NOT mean that it has any artistic value at all.

Why you think he's a "super" funny guy? you got no reason other than you want him to be
User avatar #76 to #75 - logiblack (10/18/2015) [-]
Because every now and then we see glimpses of him being a normal guy.
Then he forces himself back to being kayne.

I didn't say he's a super funny guy, I said he's a super fun guy.
It's fun being around him. Having a great time, wise.
Not that he's funny. There is a subtle difference.

I think he might be a self-ironic guy playing the 'I'm the best and most important guy' because he actually thinks really low of himself.
But that's just me projecting on him and indeed is wishful thinking.
