Sadly, this is false. My Droid Ultra has gorilla glass on the display, and it shattered like any other glass when I dropped it from about 1 meter.
Gorilla glass is not stronger nor is it any more durable than regular glass. The only difference is the layering that holds it together in a flat plane when it shatters. You get less cuts and less mess, but you still can't see the damn screen at that point.
However, it is much more scratch resistant. RESISTANT, not scratch proof. If you carry something like that in your pocket with your keys, it can still get scratched. That said, I've had my phone for nearly 2 years now and it doesn't have a single scratch on it.
I have the exact phone demonstrated in this video and I've shattered the screen. that said I've dropped it a few times with no break. the reason it finally shattered was the type of impact, a 2 foot drop where the screen landed flat against the hard surface. everyone experiencing breakage described the same impact. I can't tell you why but perhaps the force needs to be distributed by the compressive forces in some way that was overwhelmed.
Watch the behind the scenes special. Jamie tells how he's incredibly bad at speaking on camera, and it's done with a lot of editing to make him look good.
Yeah, but without the rest of the cast it's not that good anyway. The show seems...dead, much more soulless and toned down too much. I don't want to say boring but it's far less enjoyable. Plus unique skills of the other members were a good factor, making the show better. That and of course Tory hurting himself in stupid ways all the time.
Man it's a shame this is pretty much just a big promo for Corning, I'd love to watch a series shot in this style. Them in the black suits, experimenting with the normal camera and then the high speed, the graphics coming over...
