Here in mainland Europe we act like human beings and accept people for who they are, and let them be happy for it.
Each country has a rich history of fighting alongside eachother for what they believe is right. Even France and Britain fought as brothers in arms once upon a time.

Even if we have a long standing friendship with a country, we will not stand by and let them punish their people for the way they are born, no more than we will tolerate cheaters at Eurovision (that's right Germany...you were cleared of plagerism, but we all know...we all know...)

It cool being little spoon cos you get to rub your butt against the big spoon's crotch.
But being big spoon makes it easy to grab boobs/crotch.

Also why is it big and little spoon? Teaspoons and table spoons don't fit together as well as two table spoons...

Also, why the hell do you care what other people do when it does not affect you in any way?

As for the contestants, they are ******* assholes. First off its the olympics not a ******* LGBT movement, people go there to watch and play the games not hear ******** opinions from other countries. They go to a host country nice enough to make these events and people go and spread gay propaganda in anti-gay propaganda zone, its disrespectful.

Germany has a wide variety of anti discrimination laws. Plus a recognised same sex civil unions that are, admittedly, lesser then full marriage.
On the other hand, germany has NO laws against gays, and people can't get arrested for saying that they support gay rights.
And in polls between 68 and 79% of people support gay marriage.
So yes, they have a right. Only reason why three attempts to pass the gay marriage law failed was because CDU keeps blocking it.

Not giving full legal benefits to gay couples isn't on the same level as arresting people for publicly engaging in or supporting homosexual behavior.
Germany is really a very tolerant country as far as homosexuality goes. Russia, not at all. Legally and culturally.

Last I heard Russia says its going to imprison anyone spreading homosexual propaganda.

If that is not homosexual propaganda, then I don't know what is, also I don't understand. Why do people try so hard to raise an Issue in a country that is not theirs, now if noone liked it I would understand, the problem is Russians are very conservative, and the great majority like the anti-gay laws.

I have a feeling this whole "save teh russian gays" is not out of kindness of heart, its just a political tool, and they are just using the gays as an excuse.

You know what, I agree.

Most of the people here want to blame the US for intervening on other countries treatment of people/use of resources, then turn around and put countries on blaze that they think should change their civil rights stance on........

As long as they're not killing them/imprisoning them BECAUSE they are gay, I suppose it's ok.

If you all really believed the US should stay out of other countries business, you shouldn't be telling other countries how to conduct their business.

And you say "Why do people try so hard to raise an Issue in a country that is not theirs..." It's a humanitarian thing. What makes humans different is compassion for others and if we don't strive to better the position and status of others that are oppressed then what is the point of civilization? They have a prejudice that is outdated and needs changed. People see that and now people are trying to change that.

Yet the laws dont lock up gay people, only if said gay people go outside and start promoting it openly, i know its a tough life for a gay person in life, but they are simply trying to stop kids from being seeing what they feel is morally wrong, im not going to judge whether its morally right or wrong but same sex relation is a difficult concept to explain to a child. Like I mentioned before russians are a very traditional bunch

Then again these arguments leave to know, so im just going to take the rest of my red thumbs and check out.

Wow, wish I knew that when I explained it to my son.

"Dad, why are those two men holding hands?"
"Because they love each other."
"Oh, like mummy and you?"
"Yes"
"Oh okay"

Really complicated ****.

Oh, and yes, the laws do lock up gay people, for expressing who they are. Just like the start of every slippery slope of laws set to oppress a specific group of people. And even if nobody is to be arrested (which is untrue) it gives a great justification for people to beat up, torture and humiliate homosexuals. Which has already happened, and continues to happen.

How the **** is it a difficult concept to explain to children. Just tell the kid, that man loves this man, just like you would tell them this woman loves this man.

Also, are you aware of the violence that has been happening to gay people there? Violence that is videotaped with the attackers faces easily seen cause what is ever going to happen to them for being the **** out of someone and making them drink urine? Nothing.

And they want to take children away from perfectly fine Russian gay couples. Have you seen how their government takes care of "orphans"? It is not an improvement, as much as you might feel it is.
