One Piece has been better about this than most, but if you want to keep away from that **** , stay away from Naruto, Bleach, and Fairy Tail, and only watch **** that has actual writers rather than escaped retards from the closest Japanese special center.
Some good shounen I could point out are Digimon (first three are good, four is terrible, five is alright, six sucks, and Tri is probably gonna be bretty great), and the ones not dealing with fighting, like Death Note and Black Butler. Also, Hajime no Ippo is a good, realistic boxing anime I'd suggest.

Yeah, the manga has an entire arc dedicated to how Aladdin came to the current Magi world from his own and what happened there, the origin of Ugo + the djinn etc etc, that arc is a real feels trip. Right now the final arc just started, I'm sad that its gonna end but its probably gonna go out with a bang

Hunter X Hunter is ******* great. Its a nice deconstruction of shounen tropes, with perfectly under-strength characters training and winning alongside some kick-ass characters. I can't wait until the anime comes back, though I have to finish the chimera-ant arch and the one after first. Chimera Ant arch has to be my least favorite right now, simply for its pacing and length. However, it has top-notch fighting scenes and great new characters. I especially love the fight between Netero and Meruem and also the "fight" between Neferpitou and Gon. It was awesome.

I've always been more into serious-kind of stories instead of these popular **** full of bland comedy and cheap fan-service. Have always watched movies like that, looking for deep and thought provoking stories. So one day I decided to check what are the highest rated mangas, instead of top popular. Top 1 was Berserk. So I gave it a go.
