I get the joke, the girl keeps marrying old rich guys. It just reminded me of taylor swift having a new boyfriend ever 4 months that's all. Maybe it was a terrible reference.

My aunt has been dating an older guy for a few years now. He is pretty damn rich but an emotionally abusive bastard who throws tantrums like a two year old if anything doesn't go exactly how he wants it too. My aunt has been in abusive relationships all her life. So many and so often that she has PTSD from it all. She stays with him because she thinks she'd just end up in a worse relationship (the worst relationship I've heard of her being in was with a cop who held his gun to the back of her head and threatened to kill her) and says he won't cheat on her and doesn't beat her. She is the nicest woman on the planet and the old bastard knows that if she left him he'd die miserable and alone. Hell, we went to lunch last week and a guy started swearing at us for talking while he was trying to order and she ended up paying for his lunch and apologizing for our talking which led to us eating very quietly while the guy loudly swore about everything the entire time he was there.
