obligatory "I haven't memorized the internet" reply. This is part of the reason I sat on these comments for a while, so that I could see if they were part of a larger meme (I tried to edit out those that were.)

That's unusual since they get used so often.
Well I don't blame you personally. But its obvious that those people were trying to take credit for other people's wit.

I could be to blame though. If someone makes a comment knowing it's a meme, and using that as part of the joke's effect, and then someone who hasn't heard it comes along and takes it as first-hand material, then it looks like someone taking credit for a joke when they aren't. We simply can't cite our sources with every comment.
